Record, rather than rhetoric

Join Our Campaign | Make a Contribution

Dear Convention Delegate:

I am pumped about the upcoming convention this weekend! I appreciate so much the growing numbers of people letting us know of their support - from Southside to Northern Virginia, and from the coalfields to the eastern shore. It's a seven-way race, and every vote counts.

I really appreciate all those who are sending emails and making calls on my campaign's behalf to the delegates in their respective areas, and the numerous individuals who are joining us as volunteers this coming weekend. I so look forward to greeting everyone at my Hospitality Suite in the Liberty Lounge, in the lobby of the Marriott this Friday night. So much of my family will be with us - they will want to meet you, as well!

Delegates have expressed great appreciation for my campaign staying out of the negative campaign fray - and instead, choosing to speak substantively on the issues of importance to the candidacy of Lt. Governor. I can do so because I have every confidence in my record - a record built on principle. Experience is of no value if it is not backed up by a record constituents can see and have confidence in. My record has been consistent throughout my time in office, as I have remained committed to the principles of limited government, free enterprise, competitive markets, and individual liberty.

Republican convention delegates most assuredly share our vision for Virginia, and they can have confidence in my preparedness to serve and in how I will conduct myself in office as your Lt. Governor. And they know I win elections, having won 10 of 10 races; even while being outspent in four of them. Conservatives, in the House and Senate, have seen me campaigning for them, side-by-side in their respective races and know firsthand of my ability to run winning campaigns.

This is a race we must win. The balance of power in the Senate is determined by electing a conservative as our next Lt. Governor, as is control of the legislature as a whole. We cannot afford to nominate an unproven candidate. We must choose substantive accomplishment over show, and a solid conservative record over rhetoric.

I look forward to seeing you and receiving your support at the Convention this coming Friday and Saturday. Again, I invite you to join me at my hospitality suite in the Liberty Lounge on Friday, May 17th. Please let us know of your support via www.senatorstevemartin.com.

Thank you for the privilege and responsibility of service.

God Bless,
