Choices

Dear Robert,

Everywhere you go in America and in Virginia - the number-one concern on people's minds is Jobs and the Economy. It is and will be the driving issue in this 2013 election -- just ask Ken Cuccinelli (or Terry McAuliffe for that matter). And while a lot of folks like to talk about creating jobs, you, Ken and I all know it takes real entrepreneurs and job creators to actually do it.

Yesterday, as part of my day job as the CEO of Disruptor Capital, I had the privilege of standing beside two fellow entrepreneurs and announcing a new business deal that will help secure 160 good Virginia manufacturing jobs and, in the future, create many, many more.

If you weren't able to see the news coverage - here's a clip of the celebration we had with the community in Russell County:

What I've found in my nearly two decades as a Chief Executive Officer is that Business, just like Life, is about choices.

While many in manufacturing have chosen to shutter U.S.-based operations and take their jobs to Southeast and Southwest Asia, the company that I invested in and am now on the Board of chose to bring new pride back to "Made in America" and bring jobs to Southwest Virginia.

Our choices show our character and what we stand for. In just a few short days, thousands of our party's faithful with be making some choices as well -- choices that will reflect the values and goals of our movement and choices that will determine the future of our party, our Commonwealth, and I'd argue, our country.

I had some choices to make over the past few weeks. Like some I could choose to go after the best "deal" out there based on whatever hand-outs or corporate welfare were offered... which perhaps would lead me to Southwest Asia ...or even Mississippi.

Or I could choose to "bet long" on America... and on Virginia. It was an easy choice to make - as I know the character and work ethic of Southwest Virginia and her people.

Maybe that's why I'm so excited about the future and feel so good today.

Can't wait to see you in a few days in Richmond... And if you haven't had it yet, you have to stop by and try my BBQ at Friday Night Lights at the Marriott Ballroom - 9pm. I don't have an ego about much - but I'm betting you'll like my 'que!

Sincerely,

Pete
