Don't Let the Democrats Steal This Election

Contract From America is forwarding this special message to you from our friends at the Senate Conservatives Fund. Sponsorships like this help us fight the battle to keep America free and elected officials responsible. All personal information of Contract From America subscribers is kept in strict confidence and never shared with sponsors. We appreciate your support.
- Contract From America

Dear Conservative:

President Obama said, "I may not be on the ballot this year, but every single one of my policies are on the ballot."

He just made an excellent case for why conservatives need to turn out and vote in 2014, but we need your help to get the word out.

Conservative U.S. Senate candidates Joni Ernst (R-IA), Tom Cotton (R-AR), Rob Maness (R-LA), and Ben Sasse (R-NE) need us right now ... as do conservative U.S. House candidates Dave Brat (R-VA), Zach Dasher (R-LA), and Alex Mooney (R-WV).

They are all battling the Obama turnout machine right now, as the Democrats pull every trick they have in the bag to get their base out.

This is crunch time!

GOTV 2014Millions have been spent on TV ads, the mail has been sent, most of the fights have been had in the press. Undecided voters are breaking, and soft Republicans are trying to decide whether they're going to turn out or not. We have to let these folks who are still on the fence about voting know that this is their chance to change Washington.

It's true that the President is massively unpopular, and that Independents are breaking against Democrats, but the Democrats have one last hope: the incredible Obama turnout machine that propelled him to victory.

The Democrats have more than a dozen field offices in Iowa and Arkansas. They have spent millions on their ground operation because they know it might be their last shot at helping Harry Reid keep his grip on power.

There's good news though: We're fighting back!

Our candidates are spending most of their resources on TV ads, trying to keep up with the massive barrage of attack ads coming from the Democrats. They need help on the turnout side, making sure that every Republican turns out, including those who don't typically vote in mid-term elections.

Here's a number for you to consider: There are over 53,800 "Soft Republicans" in Iowa alone. By "soft" I mean they voted in the presidential election, but they don't usually vote in midterm elections.

We know they are Republicans, we know they reject the President and his agenda, and we know that if they turn out, they will vote for Joni Ernst ... but we have to turn them out for her.

We are calling them, begging, cajoling, persuading, doing whatever it takes to let them know that the future of this country is at stake and they need to vote and secure America's future.

That's why we need you to help us fund this final turnout operation.

Our automated calls run on average at about two and a half cents a piece so your donation of $25 will be spent directly on calling 1,000 Republican voters. If you give $100, we will call 4,000 Republicans. This is incredible bang for your buck, and it could be the difference between winning and losing.

We're also doing live, professional calls, which while costly are even more effective. Your donation of $40 today will help us make 100 personal calls to Republicans voters. If you give $400, we can have our turnout specialists call 1,000 voters who will decide the outcome of many of these races.

Working together, we can turn out over 320,000 Republican voters in key races where SCF has a conservative candidate on the ballot.

We don't want to wake up on Wednesday and find out that one of them narrowly lost and wish we had done more to help. That's why we're working hard in the final days and taking nothing for granted.

Please chip in $10, $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can right now.

It's not too late. We're making calls right now and the more money we raise today, the more voters we can turn out on Tuesday.

Thank you for supporting our candidates and for understanding that change in Washington means changing the people we send there.

Sincerely,

Ken Cuccinelli II
President, Senate Conservatives Fund
Former Attorney General of Virginia

Responsibility

Convention of States Project

T
he season has changed and the leaves are falling and there is a coolness to the air.  We too are changing. We have become aware that our Government is not changing, unless we too become involved.  I am happy to report that Convention of States Virginia has added five new District Captains in the State, in just one week. These are five people, that have committed themselves to taking responsibility to help change our country.  It is up to the people to fix what is broken in Washington, and in Virginia.

It is up to our elected representatives to follow the constitution and lead with integrity, and honor. They seem to have forgotten how to do that.  If you have been following the news you know of all the dishonest things that are happening around the Country.  The people can change this.  All they have to do, is to decide to take an active role in speaking up for what is right.  Joining the Convention of States as a Volunteer, or a District Captain is a way of doing that.   As a volunteer, you call, visit, and email your legislator to let him know how you feel about COS. If your legislator doesn't hear from you, he/she usually votes the way they feel and not the way you feel.  You have to give your input to make things matter the way you feel about your country. If we are to have the Convention of States Project passed in February in the 2015 General Assembly, then we have to be involved to make it a reality.  Last year it passed in the  State House, but the State Senate did not allow it to go through.  I hope with your involvement we can have it pass  fully in the State.  What an accomplishment that will be.

I hope you will make that happen, by becoming involved and taking responsibility for positive change. It takes people and lots of them to accomplish this. Please talk to your neighbors and coworkers, friends and family about Convention of States. We have grown here in Virginia to 3,000 members. Help me increase this number.  If you become a District Captain, you are responsible for rallying people in your voting district. You organize your team to increase numbers of people volunteering. You get them to email, call or visit their legislator.  You get to help make Convention of States happen, by helping to increase our numbers. Become a District Captain and a Volunteer. Help make Positive Change happen.

In the General Assembly, our legislators gather round to vote for or against Convention of States Project.  They hold a hearing to discuss whether to do this. If you show up and fill the room, then they can visually see the people care about getting it passed.  If the room is empty of people, then they could decide we don't care enough to get Convention of States Passed. I pray that the hearing room will be standing room only, with so many of you filling it to show them that you care. To show them that you want Convention of States Passed. It only takes a little of your time, but that time is so precious, and valuable.

I know the Founding Fathers will be so proud that we the people followed Article Five of the Constitution and made a positive change for our country.  Like the changing seasons we will once again spring forth to an America with honesty, integrity, pride and honor, only if we take part to see that it happens.

Thank you to those of you who have signed up and thank you to those who will be signing up. God Bless.

Sincerely Grateful,

Kathy Lee

Wittman & Gillespie

With just one week until Election Day, only a short time remains in which to make a statement about whether you are happy with a Democrat-controlled Senate and a Democratic President who is creating gridlock, uncertainty, and secrecy in Washington.

We need members in Congress who will fight to protect our constitutional principles and hold the executive branch accountable. Electing representatives who are not afraid to rise above the hyper-partisanship and war of words will provide more certainty for businesses and families. Virginians need elected representatives who will not tell us to accept what government demands from us, but rather listen to how they can make government better work for us.

We already have that person in Rob Wittman, and I am proud to support his reelection to the 1st District of Virginia in the House of Representatives. I am equally pleased to support Senate candidate Ed Gillespie. Electing Ed to U.S. Senate will ease the gridlock and help remove Harry Reid as majority leader.

We need strong voices in Congress. I ask that you to re-elect Congressman Wittman and cast your vote for Ed Gillespie on November 4th.  If you are interested in learning more or would like to volunteer even 30 minutes of your time in the next 14 days, please visit www.robwittman.com or www.edforsenate.com

Breaking news!
Just this morning, the General Assembly members received notification that we will return to Richmond on Monday, November 10. At that time we will consider the Governor's technical amendment to the budget and elect judges. As more information becomes available, I will keep you updated.
