Historic Triangle Tax

Please call the vote is tomorrow!

forward response:

Regarding the tax increase, there seems to be a shocking lack of awareness. Hopefully the recent media coverage will bring the issue to the forefront. Please encourage everyone you know to contact the House of Delegates members to express opposition to the bill. It will be on the floor tomorrow, and time is of the essence.

Thank you again,

Delegate Brenda Pogge

This morning, the Historic Triangle Bill cleared the House Finance Committee.  Please thank the Delegate Pogge for her down vote. Just became aware of the bill today - and I am probably not alone - among the 80,000 constituents.  As a resident of York County, I do not support a local surcharge that would subsidize another locale,  i.e. Williamsburg.

Know the Session clock is ticking...when do you anticipate the House to vote on the bill?  Is there anything we can do as a private citizen or member of a citizen's group to fight this bill?

Dear Amanda,

As you know, several of us from the Hampton Roads Republican Womens' Club had planned to meet with Delegate Pogge this morning, but we had to cancel on short notice, due to illness.

This morning, I saw that the Historic Triangle Bill cleared the House Finance Committee.  Please thank the Delegate for her down vote. Just became aware of the bill today - and I am probably not alone - among the 80,000 constituents.  As a resident of York County, I do not support a local surcharge that would subsidize another locale,  i.e. Williamsburg.

Sincerely,

Submit FCRC Convention Filing Forms by Noon Saturday, Feb 24

Seize the opportunity to help your party  ...

hannigan logo

Dear ,

Many thanks if you have already submitted your filing form and check for the Fairfax County Republican Convention scheduled for March 17 at South Lakes High School in Reston (11400 South Lakes Drive, Reston, VA 20191).

I will be updating you over the next couple of weeks about the convention schedule and generally what to expect at the convention.

If you have not signed up to be a delegate at the convention, let me remind you that Republican election results have been dismal and declining over the past few years. You do not have to accept such results.

By participating as a delegate in the Fairfax County Republican Convention, you will have a direct say in the direction that the FCRC will take during the next two years.

Please do your part by signing up for the convention and voting for an FCRC transformation focused on restructuring, reunifying, and reinvigorating the party in Fairfax County.

Reminder:  please be aware the filing forms and $25.00 checks required to become a convention delegate must be RECEIVED at the FCRC Headquarters, 4246 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA 22030, by 12:00 PM (Noon) this Saturday, February 24.

You can download the standard and military filing forms from the FCRC website here and here or from my HanniganForChairman.com website under the "FCRC Convention" dropdown box here and here. Or just call or email me, and I will email the forms to you directly.

The filing forms address numerous sign-up opportunities so I have also posted a sample of how to fill out the standard filing form showing just what part of the form that a person has to complete in order to attend the Fairfax County Republican Convention that will select the new FCRC Chairman.

At this point, if you plan to vote for me:

  • Please deliver your filing form and $25.00 check to my house (11115 Sweetwood Lane, Oakton, VA 22124) so that my team and I can ensure the form is correctly filled out and you don’t get disqualified from being a delegate because of an administrative error; or
  • Deliver your filing form and $25.00 check directly to the FCRC Headquarters (Please email me when you have made the delivery so we can track progress); or
  • Contact me and we’ll arrange to pick up the filing form and check at your house and submit them on time to the FCRC Headquarters.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call or email me:  703-314-1898, timothyhannigan@icloud.com.

Kind regards,

Politically Savvy Republicans in Fx County Endorse Tim Hannigan

See who's supporting Tim Hannigan ...

hannigan logo

Dear ,

Numerous politically experienced Fairfax County Republicans have endorsed me to lead a major transformation of the Fairfax County Republican Committee that will reverse the party’s nearly obliterating losses over the past decade and produce GOP wins in the county once again.

Savvy Republican leaders in the county recognize the need for a full-time Chairman who has extensive experience in managing large organizations, competing for win-loss decisions in high stakes environments, messaging on public policy issues, and organizing precinct-level grassroots efforts to get out the Republican vote.

Here are the endorsements of these Republican leaders:

“I endorse Tim Hannigan for Chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee. I believe he will improve the effective functioning of the county party, respect volunteers and grow the party while showing improved loyalty to President Trump, the duly elected leader of the Republican Party.” – Ginni Thomas, Virginia Delegate to the Republican National Convention, (Cleveland) 2016

“I endorse Tim Hannigan for Chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee (FCRC). We need a Chairman who clearly supports conservative positions, will effectively lead on issues and will focus on winning elections. Tim has engaged on a breadth of topics regarding Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), often attending School Board meetings and including conservative FCPS commentary in his Fairfax Free Citizen newspaper. I urge support for Tim to restore confidence in the leadership role of FCRC.” – Elizabeth Schultz, Fairfax County School Board member from Springfield District

“I have come to know Tim over the past couple of years through the Rotary Club of Annandale. Tim has been an active participant, including writing the Club’s two-page newsletter every week and helping me to line up meeting speakers. He exemplifies service above self. Also, I very much enjoy reading his Fairfax Free Citizen. He is on top of local and state issues. We need energetic Tim to be our new FCRC Chairman leading the charge to win back Republican seats.” – Gwen Cody, Former House Delegate from Annandale

“Republicans have a choice—they can continue doing what they have been doing. ... Or, they can elect a Chairman who wants to break some eggs and make a new omelet. … The better choice is a retired Marine Corps veteran and corporate executive, Tim Hannigan, who is the editor of the Fairfax Free Citizen and conservative activist. Tim, who ran for Chairman unsuccessfully two years ago, has prepared a detailed, precinct by precinct plan for the type of nuts and bolts rebuilding that is, really, the last hope for salvaging Fairfax County and capturing new voters. ... His biggest upside? Mr. Hannigan has pledged to be a full-time Chairman, devoting the next two years to putting his bold and detailed plan in place and raising the money required to run a full-time party operation.” – Michael Giere, author, former candidate for the U.S. House, and member of the Reagan and Bush (41) Administrations

“Spike and I are supporting Tim Hannigan because we feel he is the best candidate to move the Fairfax County Republican Committee forward. He will also be able to unify and bring back the many grassroot volunteers who have left the committee. Please share with your friends and family who live in Fairfax County and ask them to become a delegate and vote for Tim on March 17th.” – Julie Williams, Vice Chairman of the 10th Congressional District Republican Committee and incoming member of the Republican State Central Committee

“I whole-heartedly support and endorse Tim Hannigan to be the new Chairman of our Fairfax County Republican Committee. Tim knows the issues facing Fairfax County and what Republicans should do to address them and win politically. Tim supported my candidacy for School Board this past summer, which gave me the chance to get to know him first hand. He is thoughtful, measured, and a great communicator. I believe he will appeal to and inspire the best ideals of our party and principals; he will be an inclusive leader; he will be a champion for all of our candidates, and a unifier of our party and our community writ-large. Please take a chance to get to know Tim, and join me in voting for him on March 17th.” Chris Grisafe, Republican-endorsed candidate for At-Large School Board member in August 2018

Reminder:  the filing forms for the Fairfax County Republican Convention must be RECEIVED at the FCRC Headquarters, 4246 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA 22030, by 12:00 PM (Noon) on Saturday, February 24.
