It is vital to the interests of gun owners that we make the strongest possible showing at the Virginia Republican Convention this week.

2. With the Republican Convention around the corner, a reminder about one of the candidates

VCDL will have a booth at the Republican Convention this upcoming weekend. The VCDL-PAC will be there, too.
Here is a reminder about one of the candidates running for Lt. Governor who has a strong ANTI-GUN voting record. Jeannemarie Davis, who is denying her leadership in the gun-control movement, now expects us to trust that she should would fight to protect our gun-rights if she is elected.
Oh, really? So if there was a tie in the Senate over a bill to institute universal background checks, we could trust her to vote against it? I don't think so:

3. VCDL shoot in Roanoke was a huge success, with over $2,500 in door prizes handed out!

Saturday we had 58 people participating in a shooting match at the Roanoke Rifle and Pistol Club. The match had six stages, challenging the shooters with a variety of self-defense-type scenarios. Everyone had a lot of fun, plenty of food, and got part of the over $2,500 in door prizes! The prizes ranged from 30-round magazines, to ammunition, to gift baskets, to gift certificates. Most people got TWO items!
Board member Al Steed Jr. has been the driving force behind the wide variety of VCDL events that we have been having in SW Virginia and we thank him for all he does for us! Oh, and Happy Birthday, Al!
Also, I would like to thank the many sponsors who contributed generously with door prizes and donations to VCDL. Be sure to patronize and thank the businesses below for their support! And thanks to the individuals, who also stepped forward with their own generous donations. (Another act of generosity: the winner of the 50-50 drawing, rather than keep his $80 winnings, chose to donate the entire amount to VCDL!)
