VCDL-PAC IS PLEASED TO ENDORSE DELEGATE BEN CHAFIN FOR VIRGINIA SENATE!

VCDL-PAC is extremely happy that all THREE candidates answered the VCDL
Candidate survey Very Pro-Gun.

Normally, this would make for a very difficult choice since the VCDL-PAC
can, and does, endorse Very Pro-Gun candidates regardless of their party
affiliation. Just ask all the Republicans and the combination of ten
Democrats and third party candidates that the VCDL-PAC endorsed last year.

For gun owners, this election is unusual as it is not only about who
will represent the 38th Senate District, but more importantly, it is
about WHO WILL CONTROL THE VIRGINIA SENATE FOR THE NEXT YEAR AND A HALF!

So the choice ends up being easy: a vote for anyone but Ben Chafin is a
vote for anti-gun zealots Dick Saslaw and Donald McEachin to stymy
efforts to improve Virginia's gun laws and to aid Governor McAuliffe's
extremist efforts to restrict your Right to Keep & Bear Arms. Earlier
this year when the anti-gun Democratic leadership in the Senate came
into power because of some special elections, Saslaw and McEachin
immediately replaced key pro-gun Republicans from the Senate Courts of
Justice Committee with anti-gun Democrats. That happened just as some
pro-gun bills were about to be considered in the committee and those
bills died when they would have passed out of committee had the
committee not been changed.

The McAuliffe/Saslaw/McEachin gang want to do everything they can to
kill any pro-gun legislation originating in either the House or the
Senate and they will use underhanded parliamentary maneuvers to advance
anti-gun legislation in the Senate.

Gun owners can't allow that to happen. That's why gun owners in the
38th Senate district must stand up and say "No" to the
McAuliffe/Saslaw/McEachin gang.

Although he's been a member of the House of Delegates for a short time,
Ben Chafin has an actual voting record (unlike the other two candidates)
and has been a reliable pro-gun vote on any gun legislation that has
come before him. I expect his pro-gun voting record to continue when
Ben is elected to the Virginia Senate.

If you live in the 38th Senate District (http://tinyurl.com/k59ottm),
PLEASE VOTE FOR DELEGATE BEN CHAFIN ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 19TH. The rights
of gun owners for the next year and a half will truly depend on it.
Spread the word!

VCDL-PAC is a Virginia PAC and cannot participate in federal elections.
However, we are staring down the barrel of ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY races
next year. We were underfunded last year, and we have the anti-gun
Governor, Lt Governor, and Attorney General to prove it. Next year's
House and Senate races will be critical.

A few of you are making MONTHLY contributions to VCDL-PAC, and I CANNOT
thank you enough, but it will take ALL OF US to ensure the Senate
leadership remains pro-gun and neutralize the vicious attacks on our
allies that we saw in 2013.

No one at VCDL-PAC receives a salary and administration expenses are
minimal. Virtually every penny received goes directly into the fight to
elect pro-gun candidates.

Thank you for your support.

Bob Sadtler
Chairman, VCDL-PAC

On Tuesday, August 19, be sure to get as many friends, neighbors, and
fellow gun owners to go to the polls with you and VOTE FOR BEN CHAFIN
for Senate.

No Lame-Duck

This week, the House of Representatives may try to pass a short-term government funding bill with little debate. The leadership in both parties wants a "must-pass" funding bill to come up after the November elections, so that they can attach bad policies to it and not be held accountable.

This is irresponsible. After the election, politicians in DC will pass whatever they want. They are too scared to pass an Internet sales tax, or the reauthorization of the crony Ex-Im Bank before Americans go to the polls. They want to sneak it in under our noses.

Protecting our freedom means being vigilant. We need to be ready to stand strong against this big government overreach when the time comes – that means stopping a lame-duck session of Congress.

Protecing Your Email Privacy

Do you know why the government shouldn’t be able to read your email without a warrant?

For starters, the Constitution protects innocent citizens from unreasonable searches and seizures.

But it’s also important to keep the government out of your email so that bureaucrats don’t abuse the information. A government that collects private information on its citizens is a government that’s too big.

A Night of Action - An Encore

Last Tuesday, tens of thousands of patriots across the country came together to develop a plan to stop Common Core. They joined freedom fighters like Glenn Beck, Michelle Malkin, and FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe in a live, interactive show called “We Will Not Conform: A Night to Make Common Core History.”

Did you miss the exciting night of action?

If you did, don’t worry!

This Tuesday, July 29, 2014, there will be an encore presentation in movie theaters across the country. You can still catch the show and learn how you can stop Common Core in your school district.

You can get tickets to an encore presentation of We Will Not Conform here.

A Big Victory for the Grassroots

Grassroots conservatives scored a huge victory this week.

In Georgia’s 11th District, conservative candidate Barry Loudermilk won the Republican nomination. This was a hard-fought battle against a former DC insider. Grassroots support put Barry over the top and helped him secure the nomination.

Check out all the work FreedomWorks for America activists did to help Barry Loudermilk move one step closer to going to Washington!
