Cuccinelli, McAuliffe on political transparency

Headlines from yesterday's VPAP luncheon emphasized how the two gubernatorial candidates fussed and sparred. But we heard Ken Cuccinelli and Terry McAuliffe agree on one issue -- the important role of transparency in politics.

Here's what Cuccinelli and McAuliffe told 350 guests who gathered at the Richmond Marriott:

"VPAP deserves a lot of credit for making Virginia's disclosure system work." - Ken Cuccinelli

"I want to give vpap.org a great round of applause for making Virginia a better state." - Terry McAuliffe
