Action Alert: Register Now, Day at the Capitol!
As we put Thanksgiving behind us and get ready for all the activities of Christmas, I wanted to be sure you remember that the General Assembly session will be starting on January 11, 2012. With conservatives gaining parity in the Senate and Lt. Governor Bill Bolling set to break any ties, we are hopeful that the pro-family legislation that has died in this body will see greater success in 2012!
Please make sure you mark your calendar now and plan to join us for our Family Foundation Day at the Capitol, Monday, January 16, 2012. Our announcement of a speaker will be coming soon as we work out final details!
It is essential, maybe now more than ever, to make your voice heard in Richmond! There is a conservative working majority in the state Senate, but with a 20-20 tie, it only takes one wrong vote to kill good legislation. I hope you will consider coming to Richmond one day in January to ensure your legislators know where you stand on the issues of life, marriage and religious liberty.
Your Senators and Delegates need to hear from you.
We will be meeting at our new office location:
The SunTrust Building
919 E. Main Street
Richmond, VA 23219
4th Floor
The schedule for the day is as follows:
9am-10am: General Registration and Meet & Greet
10am-12 noon: Session with special guest speaker and various legislators
12 noon-1pm: Lunch on your own (we have a great cafeteria in our building) and visit the House/Senate Gallery
1pm-4pm: meet with legislators in their offices
You won’t want to miss this inspirational and informational opportunity, as well as the chance to meet with your Senator and Delegate to remind them of our shared principles in the laws they enact.
Family Foundation Day at the Capitol is free of charge, and will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day).
