POST-ELECTION REPORTS INTEGRATED

 

VPAP has posted valued-added information from the post-election finance disclosures that were due Thursday. 

 

The reports offer an in-depth view of last-minute fundraising and spending by General Assembly candidates.

 

 

SPENDING DOWN IN HOUSE, UP SLIGHTLY IN SENATE

 

Here's more evidence that Virginia's political economy may not be recession-proof:

 

Total spending in this year's House races dropped nearly 40 percent from 2009, the last time all of its seats were on the ballot. 

In the Senate, elections were far more competitive, leading to a 5 percent increase in spending
