Thank you for offering yourself as a delegate to the Republican Convention in Richmond on Saturday, May 18th. Your involvement is so important because of the necessity that we elect another Republican Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General to protect Virginia from the Obama Administration's assaults on our state sovereignty and individual liberties. And, without the Lieutenant Governor's office, we do not have control of the Senate or the legislature as a whole.
It's been my honor to serve Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights, Amelia County, and parts of Dinwiddie County in the General Assembly over the past 25 plus years. Throughout these years I have maintained a consistent conservative, limited government, individual liberty record - earning ratings of "A" or 100% from organizations such as the NRA, the Family Foundation, the National Federation of Independent Business, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, the American Conservative Union, and other organizations that fight for constitutional liberty, free market economics, and traditional conservative values. As a matter of fact, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has recognized me as a "Champion of Free Enterprise" for the last two years, and the American Conservative Union has named me "Defender of Liberty" for 2012 and 2013.
I'm running for Lieutenant Governor because we need to nominate a candidate with a strong, consistent conservative record, rather than one who offers promises without a record to back it up. You will never need to wonder where I stand or how I will conduct myself as Lieutenant Governor. And, in all my many chairmanships throughout the years - especially as Chairman of the Senate Education and Health Committee - I have demonstrated an ability to work effectively to advance our shared values in an evenly divided Senate. Please consider my record and background. I would be honored to have your support for Lieutenant Governor at the Convention. Friends like you have always been there to help me succeed, even when vastly outspent by my opponents.
