Thank You for Pre-filing!

Dear Robert:

I know that you have been a strong supporter of my bid for Attorney General, and I'm excited to learn that you will be a delegate to the Virginia Republican Convention. I know that with your help and participation in this historic convention, we can and will win, both in May and in November. But know this: I cannot do it alone.

Your support has meant a lot to me as I have campaigned throughout the Commonwealth in recent months. I am writing you today to remind you of how important this race is, and to ask for your help as the Convention draws ever nearer.

As you know, our Attorney General, Ken Cuccinelli, is our party's nominee for Governor. Ken has been a principled and effective Attorney General, and he sets a high standard for others to follow.

I believe that we need continued conservative leadership in that office. That's why I'm running for Attorney General in 2013.

As an experienced attorney and state senator, I have the right credentials to run what is effectively one of Virginia's largest law firms. As a committed conservative, I am guided by the principles I know you share: a commitment to individual liberty, limited government, and personal responsibility.

I have taken the lead on issues such as education reform (including school choice), eminent domain reform, public safety, voter identification, procurement reform, tax reform, and the defense of family values. I have been a conservative leader in the Senate of Virginia, and now I need your help to ensure that those same values remain paramount in the Attorney General's office.

If there's a single sentence that defines my political philosophy and life's ambition, it's something my father Dick Obenshain wrote: "The most important goal in my life is to have a meaningful impact on preserving – and expanding – the realm of personal freedom in the life of this nation."

I have adopted that goal as my own. It has been my vision as a State Senator, and should I be elected as Virginia's next Attorney General, it will guide me there as well.

If these words have meaning for you as well, will you please take a moment to consider getting involved in my campaign in any of the following ways:

  1. Join our "Team Obenshain" leadership team: As a team leader, you will play an integral role in our convention preparations and convention-day strategy, and will help spread our message through events in Virginia. You can click here to join 'Team Obenshain' as a leader.

  2. If you haven't already done so, offer your support as a public endorsement, and join the growing list of thousands of grassroots activists across the Commonwealth by clicking here.

  3. "Like" my campaign on Facebook by clicking here, or follow my campaign on Twitter by clicking here today. Telling your fellow delegates why you are supporting my campaign is a great way to spread our conservative message – so please share with your friends!

If you have friends, family members, or neighbors who are attending the convention, won't you consider getting them involved?

Thank you once again for filing to be a delegate to the Convention, and for your continued support. See you in Richmond!

Sincerely,

Mark Obenshain

P.S. We do need the resources to fund this fight, and I hope you will stand with me by contributing $5, $10, or $20 today! Suzanne and I are working seven days a week, but can't do it alone. Join the fight by making a $10 contribution today.

Paid for and authorized by Obenshain for Attorney General.
