Greetings!

There are two bills on the docket to be heard on Monday, January 21. 

 

SB797 prohibits any electric utility from installing an advanced meter on your property or requiring the installation of one unless you request it. Further, if one is already installed, they would have to replace it with an analog meter if you request it. It also prohibits them from charging you a penalty or higher rate if you refuse an advanced meter.

 

SB797 has been assigned to the Senate Committee on Commerce and Labor.

HB1616 prohibits the use of unmanned domestic drones by state agencies, organizations, or any department of law enforcement in Virginia without a warrant.

 

HB1616 is assigned to the House Courts of Justice Sub-Committee #1 Criminal.
