HB 1557 Up Thursday at 5:00

Dear 2nd Amendment Leaders:

I wanted to let you know that my HB 1557, the School Protection bill, will be heard in the Militia, Police and Public Safety Subcommittee #1 on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 5:00 PM in the 4 West Conference Room.

We would appreciate as many of you as possible attending the meeting in support of the legislation and if you could send an alert to your members to ask them to contact the subcommittee members (see below) I would appreciate it.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Sincerely,

Delegate Bob Marshall

RGM/ccg

HB 1557 will require school divisions to identify one teacher or administrator at each school within their division to be trained to receive weapons training in order to be certified to carry a concealed weapon  in  school in order to be another line of defense in a shooter situation.  We have had quite a bit of positive feedback from teachers and administrators who would be glad to be trained and certified to do this in order to protect their students.

Please contact the members of the Militia, Police and Public Safety Subcommittee #1 and ask them to support HB 1557.
