Obenshain Gets It.

Dear Friend:

Mark Obenshain has released a new campaign commercial featuring one of my bills,
House Bill 2269.  See it here.

In Virginia, only certain, serious charges carry mandatory minimum sentences.   House Bill 2269 is a truth in sentencing measure that will help ensure that most criminals who receive more than one of these mandatory sentences will serve their entire penalty before being released.  When it came back from the Governor, Mark Obenshain voted yes, as did 95 out of 100 members of the House.

Incredibly, Mark Herring voted
NO.

Here are some of the offenses that Mark Herring voted against:

§ 18.2-60.4 (violation of protective orders)
§ 18.2-61 (rape)
§ 18.2-67.1 (forcible sodomy)
§ 18.2-67.2 (object sexual penetration)
§18.2-374.1 (production of child pornography)

Mark Obenshain has an understanding of how important it is to hold criminals accountable for all of their convictions, especially for serious offenses like the production of child pornography.  We need him as our next Attorney General.  I hope you will join me in supporting his campaign
here.

Sincerely,

Rob Bell
