 The Republican led General Assembly has let Virginia down. When faced with the federal encroachment on our rights and freedom, Republicans in the General Assembly caved and voted to begin the process of implementing Obamacare instead of asserting the 10th Amendment. As a former business owner who had to meet payroll and now as a minister who has to meet human needs, I have compassion for people who need medical care. But the federal sledgehammer is only making matters worse. The General Assembly must never cooperate with the federal government’s usurpation of our rights. Virginia is duty bound to DEFY NOT COMPLY with any federal encroachment on the rights and freedom of our people. As Lieutenant Governor, I will pledge my voice, my vote, and, if necessary, my very being in civil disobedience to federal efforts to trample our rights. With the help of grassroots conservatives all across the Commonwealth, I will provide the leadership to persuade our legislature to do the same.
