Just when we thought all attempts to raise taxes in Virginia had failed, lawmakers in Richmond are conspiring in conference to impose more taxes hidden in a transportation bill, HB2313. The amendment would allow ALL local governments to impose a 1% sales tax without a referendum that can be increased annually into perpetuity. Please contact members of the conference committee and your legislators in the House and Senate and tell the "no new taxes". Tell them they have a spending problem, not a revenue problem. Tell them it is time to prioritize spending - not time to raise taxes. Tell them they must live within their means like you must do. Let them know that they are out of other peoples money and the people have no more money to give. Tell them to vote "NO" on the transportation bill, HB2313, if it contains any new tax increases.
