From Donna Holt, Campaign for Liberty:

HB2223 was tabled by the House Rules Committee by voice vote. Delegate Lingamfelter's feel good resolution, HJ654 recognizing the need to oppose Agenda 21, passed the House committee prior to hearing HB2223 and was used as the excuse to table a bill with teeth.

Lingamfelter had indicated that when he signed onto Cline's bill, he would pull the resolution but that didn't happen. A victory for a do nothing piece of legislation that has no impact on law and is always easier to get passed is just what one might expect from a politician who is running for Lt. Governor.

But more on that later. For now, we have much more pressing matters.

HB2012 to place a moratorium on the use of drones for 2 years will be heard this afternoon. The bill provides an exception for emergencies declared by the Governor.

Governor McDonnell praised drone technology saying they are "great" and urged its use domestically for the same reasons it is deployed overseas.

Virginia is not a combat zone. More often than not, when drones are used to kill the enemy overseas, innocents are caught in the cross-fire. This is not a combat zone. Why would drones need to be used against the citizens of the Commonwealth for any reason?

Please copy and paste the email addresses below to contact members of the House Courts of Justice full committee and urge them to remove the provision to provide an exception for emergencies declared by the Governor in HB2012.

Please contact members of the committee immediately! There is no time to spare!
