BREAKING NEWS - Hearing Scheduled for 1/27!

Convention of States Action
Robert --

This is truly amazing.  I just learned that Speaker Bill Howell has scheduled the committee hearing for our Convention of States Project resolution, HJ 497, for the very same day as our rally--Tuesday, January 27th!

This is your ONE opportunity to testify in favor of the Convention of States Project in the Virginia House of Delegates. And even if you don't actually choose to speak verbally, your mere presence in that committee room will speak volumes.

I should tell you that this scheduling miracle comes on the heels of a truly incredible week for COS Virginia.  A number of our District Captains flooded the halls of the General Assembly Building on Tuesday and Thursday to deliver approximately 3,000 petitions from Virginia citizens to our legislators! Professor Randy Barnett from Georgetown Law School gave an impressive Article V briefing to the House Republican Caucus on Thursday. 20 co-sponsors have signed on to our resolution. And now this.

Friends, we can do this.  We ARE doing it.  Together, we WILL embolden our state legislators to use their constitutional power to get the federal beast off our backs.  The time is NOW!

So here's the plan for Tuesday, January 27th:

10:00 a.m., Capitol Belltower:  Rally for the Republic with Michael Farris and Delegate Scott Lingamfelter, our sponsor

10:45 a.m.:  Walk into the General Assembly Building to leave our "COS Lobby Day cards" with your delegate and senator

Break for lunch.  Then you can watch the House in session from the gallery of the Capitol Building, if you like.

Immediately after session adjourns (most likely between 1:00 and 2:00), attend the special Rules Committee Hearing in House Room 1 of the Capitol Building.  You will not want to miss this action--including Michael Farris' dynamic expert testimony!
