Governor McDonnell briefed General Assembly members this morning on Hurricane Irene. Areas of Virginia east of I-95 could be without power for 2 to 3 days and could affect areas west of I-95 if the storm changes course. The National Guard will assist and will help keep Big Box retailers (Home Repair & Food Stores, etc.) open to serve damaged areas.
