Explore the bills filed by legislators ahead of the special session of the General Assembly, which begins Tuesday, August 18.

Gov. Ralph Northam called the legislators back to Richmond to adopt a new budget that considers COVID-19 revenue changes. They'll also consider police and criminal justice reforms.

Early voting in Virginia doesn't begin until mid-September, but many voters already have requested an absentee ballot by mail. In nine of 11 congressional districts, the number of mail applications already exceeds the final total during the last presidential election.
