Article:  A brief history of the Virginia Citizens Defense League VCDL vice-president Jim Snyder noted a couple of problems with the story, below: 1.  "Operating from the Gun Owners of America office in Springfield" is misleading. NVCDL did NOT operate out of the GOA offices. We used their copy machine to print the newsletter and did some envelope stuffing there.  But we operated from several locations. We were/are a truly decentralized organization. 2.  "It [preemption] prevented local municipalities from restricting the right of the people to bear arms more than state law."  NO!  The preemption law does NOT do that.  Instead, it prevents a locality from enacting ANY ordinance, rule, or procedure dealing with firearm possession, carry, etc unless SPECIFICALLY AUTHORIZED TO DO SO by state law.  It is much better than the type of preemption described in the article. https://www.ammoland.com/2020/08/a-brief-history-of-the-virginia-citizens-defense-league/   3. "No guns" signs appearing in Alexandria These high-quality signs show that Alexandria is sparing no expense in marking off its gun-free zones in a very professional manner <eye roll>.  I wonder if City Council is also going to raise their leg near these signs to make sure the area is even more thoroughly marked?   5.
