Year 2015 for COS

Supporters and Volunteers: I wanted to thank all of you for all your hard work this past year. Even though we did not get HR497 and SJ297 passed in the General Assembly this year, do not allow yourselves to be discouraged. Rome was not built in a day and COS will take a little more time to pass here in Virginia. There were not enough votes to pass our Resolution in the Senate. We came about one vote short of passing it. That was, in itself, a huge victory for us. We came closer than ever before. YOU MADE THAT HAPPEN. The sponsor of the bill withdrew the application. It is ok.   Thank you for signing our petition, emailing, contacting your legislators and helping to tell others about COS. This is so important. You, as people of Virginia, made a difference for your state. You have shown our legislators that you are paying attention. They have heard you. They know you are not going away. Believe me when I tell you, they are paying attention. You made a difference. We will start on day one keeping ourselves organized. Keep lines of communication open with your legislators. Make scheduled appointments to speak with him or her to discuss the needs of your districts and to educate them on COS. Invite them to hold town halls, where we can speak to people, to discuss COS.  You can help spread the word of COS to others who do not know about us. You are ambassadors for Liberty and Freedom. The next role will be getting good people to run for office who will represent the people. Please get involved with your local politics. Stay involved with your local government and the legislators who represent you. Keep the lines of communication open. Write them, call them, let them get to know you.  Let them know you would like to have a Convention of States to keep this country from failing. Write letters to your local papers. Speak of COS to your friends at church and other organizations. If you have read the newspapers, the situation is not improving only getting worse in our country. The only way to make a difference is to be vocal in spreading the word about COS.  One more important point. Please write a personal letter to your Representative in your area who supported COS. Get your friends to do the same. Thank them for working hard in trying to make our country better by supporting COS. I am sure they would love to hear from you. Also, send letters to the ones opposed and tell them why you think COS is important. Urge them to sit down at the table to figure a way for everyone to come together and agree on how we can make COS work for all. I am sure they would not expect such a letter. Always, Always be respectful. I am so proud of all that you did this past year. You showed patriotism, grit and spirit. Virginia is proud to know you as patriots. We will not let our state down and we will not allow our country to be destroyed without a fight. Next year, instead of being shy one vote, together we will pass a Convention of States Resolution in the General Assembly.
