NorthernVirginiaGOP.com AGENDA Newsletter-April 2013

Your April issue of the NorthernVirginiaGOP.com AGENDA Newsletter follows this letter from the Northern Virginia Republican PAC...
_________________________________________

Dear NorthernVirginiaGOP.com Agenda Newsletter Subscriber,

Two great events coming up in the next few weeks!

Two great events that must have your financial support to make the difference I'm
hoping they will make!

And while they are both looking for your donations, only one has a formal Host
Committee, our NOVA GOP PAC's 13th Annual Kentucky Derby Day Fundraiser, to be held
this year on Saturday, May 4th from 5:30-7 PM at The Front Page - Arlington, 4201 Wilson
Boulevard, Arlington.

Over the years, this event has helped us fund campaign activities including the
grassroots activation of volunteers and voters through our newsletter, website and weekly TV
show, as well as our distribution of "No Tax Hike" and "Republicans United for Tax Relief"
stickers, literature and more.

Sponsorships are $1,000, $500, $250 and $100. Individual event tickets are only $20!

No matter which horse wins the race, your financial support will help us push for
victory this November, and because of our very low overhead we hope to provide the biggest
bang for the buck!

You can be on the Host Committee as a "Sponsor" of the event for as little as $100
which includes 2 tickets to the event!  Please also consider joining the Host Committee at the
higher levels, such as Patron ($250-5 tickets), Benefactor ($500-10 tickets) or Co-Host
($1,000-20 tickets).

Now, what's the second event?

The annual NOVA GOP PAC ANTI-TAX RALLY! The big tax increases coming out
of DC and Richmond this year have been a setback to economic liberty, but the battle for
lower taxes and limited, constitutional government is not just at the national and state level,
but county by county and city by city.

In addition to our Derby Fundraiser, I hope you will consider joining us on April 9th at
an anti-tax rally in front of the Fairfax County Government Center from 6-7 PM at the start of
the County's budget hearings. Even though the rally is in Fairfax, taxpayers from all localities
are invited to this NOVA-wide rally.

So, can you join us at either or both of these fantastic events?

Even if you can't make it personally, I really do hope you will show your support for
our efforts with a donation and by joining our Host Committee for the May 4th Kentucky
Derby Day Fundraiser. Any amount at all would help, and it would let us know we are on the
right track!

I hope you will join our Host Committee today.  Thank you so much for your
consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Yours for Republican Victory,
James Parmelee - Chairman - NorthernVirginiaGOP.com
President - Republicans United for Tax Relief

Trying To Reform Government

* CHAIRMAN'S REPORT - BI-PARTISAN ELECTION PROCESS IMPROVEMENT COMMISSION - After the 2012 Election, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors appointed a "Bi-Partisan Election Process Improvement Commission" to review the County's efforts and make recommendations.

As the Sully District Representative to the Commission, I pushed for common sense fiscally responsible solutions to the problems the commission faced, and I was encouraged that a number of solid suggestions for improvement made it into the final report.

Because of poor procurement policies in the past, Fairfax County currently has multiple variations of voting machines which has led to more expensive elections requiring more staff and yet also slowing down the process and causing longer lines. If the county properly implements reform and reduces this unnecessary and expensive complexity, more people can vote with shorter lines and the taxpayers can save money at the same time. But, of course, if the county had not made the original mistakes years ago in procurement, many of the problems the Commission looked at would probably not have existed.

We presented our findings to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors last week, and they can be found at www.fairfaxcounty.gov/electioncommission.

Yours for Republican (and ANTI-TAX!) Victory,
James Parmelee - President - Republicans United for Tax Relief
