WHO IS BEHIND THE ‘US DAY OF RAGE’ TO ‘OCCUPY’ WALL STREET THIS SEPTEMBER 17TH?

What, exactly, is a “US Day of Rage?” Well, on September 17th we may find out for certain, but until then, we have revealed what information does exist about this very nefarious-sounding campaign.

Governor McDonnell briefed General Assembly members this morning on Hurricane Irene.
Areas of Virginia east of I-95 could be without power for 2 to 3 days and could affect areas west of I-95 if the storm changes course. The National Guard will assist and will help keep Big Box retailers (Home Repair & Food Stores, etc.) open to serve damaged areas.

Information Alert: Winning Really Does Matter

Dear Robert:

On Tuesday, a very small number of voters turned out in sixteen primaries to choose candidates for House of Delegates and state Senate seats.  Now, Election Day for all 140 seats in the General Assembly is just over two months away.

And so is an opportunity to put Virginia on a path of public policy based on a restrained government and shared values.

Dear Fellow Virginians,

Tomorrow, August 23rd is an important day for the future of our Commonwealth.

The polls open for Primary Day in less than 8 hours in Virginia and I hope you will take the opportunity to vote in the contested primaries in your district.

We have the opportunity to elect a conservative Republican State Senate this year - but to do that we need to make sure we choose conservatives in our nomination contests.

What offices are contested in your district will vary depending on where you live,  but I hope you will make sure to vote tomorrow and take part in deciding which candidates we put up this fall.

Have a question about who's on the ballot in your area?  Please click here to visit the State Board of Elections to find out!

Sincerely,
Ken's Signature
Ken Cuccinelli, II
Attorney General of Virginia

Information Alert: McDonnell Comments on Family, Child Poverty

On Friday, Governor Bob McDonnell said something that social scientists have known for quite some time: family fragmentation is costing our culture dearly.  Of course, such a pronouncement made news presumably because it doesn’t place the blame for poverty at the feet of “the rich.”

But the Governor is right.  University of Virginia sociology professor Brad Wilcox is one of the nation’s foremost experts on the impact of family breakdown and its effect on children.  His research, as well as the research of many others, shows one of the primary reasons for poverty in our nation is not the lack of a large enough “safety net,” it is lack of intact families.  He suggests that childhood poverty could drop as much as 20 percent if we increased the marriage rate in Virginia.

Las Vegas Tea Party Newsletter - Socialism

Global Agenda 21...even if it's called Democracy, Freedom, or Protesting
Everyone should be aware of these groups.  On the surface, Day Of Rage and others seems benevolent, and in fact almost Tea Party-ish.  While many of these groups protest against their oppressive governments and fight for more freedom, they are at the same time pushing an oppressive global agenda of their own that vows to erase borders, religions, and individualism, and redistribute wealth.
Here are the stated goals of just one of their affiliates:

ATTORNEY GENERAL KEN CUCCINELLI'S STATEMENT

In January, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli issued a statement about Dick Black saying, "Dick is known throughout Virginia as a distinguished conservative leader.  His bold insistence on prudent spending and constitutional governance made him one of the most effective and influential figures in the General Assembly.  His fiscal and social conservatism will help Virginia to refocus on creating jobs and improving the economy.

(Correction) "Who Can Beat the Democrat in November?"

Trouble viewing this email? Read it online

WHO CAN BEAT THE DEMOCRAT IN NOVEMBER?

The winner of Tuesday's Republican Primary on August 23rd
will face a Democrat from Loudoun County, which makes up 74% of the
13th State Senate District.  The Democrats have carefully chosen a
candidate who is a military veteran to take on our Republican candidate.
So who is our best chance to beat the Democrat?

Military Service
  Stirrup – No service
FitzSimmonds – No service
Dick Black – Combat-wounded Vietnam Veteran who served as a Marine Corp pilot and Army JAG officer.  Dick Black is the only Republican who can go head-to-head with the Democrat's military record.

A Slower Financial Train to Ruin

The Virginian Pilot published my op-ed this past Tuesday on the recent Obama-Republican Debt Increase "accommodation" which is sending the USA to financial perdition at a slightly slower pace President Obama’s earlier timetable for the collapse of American world influence. I thought you might find it interesting.

Assigning a Crisis to a Committee
By Delegate Bob Marshall
Most people would not call $1,150 a significant "down payment" against a $350,000 home mortgage.
Yet this is the same percent "reduction" in federal spending that Republican congressional leaders and President Barack Obama have the nerve to call a down payment on our debt. Their deal cuts not one penny from the federal budget but only slows the rate of increased spending.
Amazingly, Republican congressmen could be heard cheering on the House floor as they approved the largest debt-limit increase in our history without any real cuts, merely slowing the rate of debt increase by 20 percent.
Part of the pseudo deficit reduction deal is a provision that later this year a joint committee of six members from the House of Representatives and six from the Senate are supposed to suggest more spending changes or even tax increases. The 12 disciples of debt are under the gun to propose different ways to increase spending at slower rates. They can call these actions spending cuts, but they almost certainly won't be real cuts. ...

For the rest of the op-ed go to http://hamptonroads.com/2011/08/assigning-crisis-committee.

Information Alert: Common Ground on Abortion?
Dear Robert:

Last week,
Gallop released some very encouraging polling numbers regarding abortion regulations.  Since the poll didn’t relate to homosexual activity and once again showed Americans are becoming less supportive of abortion, apparently the national news media decided you didn’t need to know.
