On Monday night, at AJ Gators Kempsville, I witnessed an extraordinary act of kinship. Donna Kara Gearey Donna Karas Gearey, a single mother of two was recently hospitalized with cancer. She is very active in her community and especially Kempsville baseball. Hundreds of friends, family, and neighbors filled the seats of the generous restaurant to raise money for Donna's family. This is what community is all about. Team Taylor was honored to help and be a part of an amazing display of unity, coalesced around a household in need. I was truly humbled to read Donna's letter of gratitude to everyone in attendance. Her profound strength and appreciation beamed from her words. We are all in this together.
