BUSES, UPDATES Medicaid Protest Richmond Mon 6/17

See new info below from AFP about free buses to Richmond Monday.

We expect over 100 activists in Richmond next Monday June 17th at 11am to protest Medicaid expansion in the state of Virginia. The General Assembly established the Medicaid Innovation and Reform Commission to decide the question. The Commission meets for the first time Monday.

Join Tea Partiers, Americans for Prosperity, Virginians for Quality Healthcare, and other activists in Richmond to lend your voice to the protest.

WHAT TO DO SCHEDULE WHILE IN RICHMOND JUNE 17^TH

1 GO THROUGH SECURITY GEN ASSEMBLY BUILDING

2 REPORT TO 5^TH FLOOR EAST CONFERENCE ROOM STAGING AREA TO REGISTER & PICK UP YOUR BUTTONS ETC. (opens at 11 AM)

3 WHILE IN THE BUILDING YOU CAN SECURE BEVERAGES AND SNACKS AT THE 6^TH FLOOR CAFETERIA ANY TIME (suggest you have a plastic bottle on you to refill with water)

4 All participants are to rally at clock tower in front of building at 12 AM to make a statement

5 All participants then report to Room D 1^st floor for the 1 PM MIRC MEETING

With less than seven months until full implementation, families all across the Commonwealth are looking at their wallets and wondering just how much more health insurance will cost next year. In California, insurance rates could DOUBLE next year. In neighboring Maryland, rates are soaring.

We can stop a key part of Obamacare from coming to Virginia...

...but we need to stand up now and make our voices heard!

Gov. McDonnell has formed a legislative panel made up of several members of the House of Delegates and State Senate to vote on Medicaid expansion in the Commonwealth. The first meeting will be held on Monday, June 17^th at the Capital in Richmond. Join AFP to tell our representatives in the State House "NO" to Obamacare and "NO" to Medicaid expansion.

NOW IS THE TIME TO STAND UP AGAINST OBAMACARE IN VIRGINIA - JOIN US ON MONDAY JUNE 17^th

We're holding a press conference at the Bell Tower to oppose Obamacare and Medicaid expansion at Noon-then we're going to attend the public hearing at 1pm. Please RSVP for the event today so we can alert the TV and radio stations ahead of time. See below for details:

BUS: Register above for a bus ticket if you would like to ride the bus. The bus will be stopping in 4 cities throughout Southwest Virginia before reaching Richmond for the rally/press conference. You can leave your car at the bus pick-up locations and can retrieve it at drop-off.

*Bus leaves promptly at 8:00am, so be sure to arrive 10 minutes in advance.
