Update 22 July 2023/ Jason Aldean Try That in a Small town

Friends,

This has been a busy week that took me all over our district, Washington D.C., Virginia Beach, to Lynchburg, and more.

We are living in crazy times and I may have become "numb to the dumb". Now limousine liberals, the so called elites, want to cancel country music singer, Jason Aldean, over his pro-American song "Try That in a Small Town" and they want to cancel the movie," The Sound of Freedom", a movie that exposes the evil of child sex trafficking.

In addition to refocusing on my business SEAL Team PT, here is some of what I have been up to and what's on my mind:
Song of the Day, Try That In A Small Town
For a little motivation, listen to this patriotic song by Jason Aldean - "Try That In A Small Town". The radical left calls this song racist and pro lynching even though 100% of the video is actual news footage. Click here to listen and watch the music video
President Trump Screens "The Sound of Freedom"
Have you seen the movie "The Sound of Freedom"? I'm happy to learn President Trump saw the movie, The Sound of Freedom. I watched this movie with my Senate Campaign Team. This movie exposes the evil multi-billion dollar child sex trafficking trade. Despite leftist Hollywood elites attempts to cancel this film, it has crossed the $100 million mark at the domestic box office in a little over two weeks. This film has made headlines since opening on the Fourth of July and beating Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny for the day with $14.2 million. As a Delegate, Democrats killed my bill to increase felony penalties for human traffickers. I will continue that fight to stop modern day slavery in the State Senate. Click here to learn more about The Sound of Freedom
Beatitudes
I took this photo when Tracy and I spent 10 days in Israel. If you get a chance to visit Israel, you should. It was a life-changing trip. Reading the Beatitudes helps me deal with some of the craziness I experience in politics. Click here to learn more about Beatitudes.
Governor Youngkin Sets Another Record
Governor Glenn Youngkin is our quarterback heading into November and he is working tirelessly to ensure fellow Republicans win. He just set another record by raising $5.75 million in the second quarter of 2023. That is more than any previous governor of Virginia has ever raised over an entire year. We will need that and much more to win in November. Please consider chipping in so we can win and stop the nonsense.
2024 Legislation
I am excited about being your voice in the State Senate so we can continue to help fellow Virginians. For example, in Virginia, school nurses are now allowed to store and administer naloxone because of my bill HB 2318. Sadly, we need a bill like this, but drug overdoses are up. The good news is allowing school nurses to administer naloxone or other opioid antagonist for drug overdoes has already saved lives.

While we are campaigning to win in November, we are also beginning to draft ideas for 2024. If you live in Senate District 10 and you have ideas on how we can improve Virginia, I would love to hear from you. Please email your legislative ideas to john@mcguireforvirginia.com
More on the Push to Vote Early
Governor Youngkin would like you to help us fight fire with fire by voting early.

“We can’t go into our elections down thousands of votes. I need you to Secure Your Vote early this year.” –Governor Glenn Youngkin

Virginia Democrats say they are mounting the largest and most coordinated early voting campaign they’ve ever undertaken for this year’s legislative elections, countering a Republican operation that’s geared up to help Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) win control of the General Assembly to enact his conservative agenda. Dubbed “The Majority Project,” the targeted early voting campaign is being rolled out publicly Thursday but has been in the works for months, party officials said. Democrats began hiring field staff in May and expect to continue through August, with more than 100 paid organizers already fanned out across the state, officials said.
Family
Now that all five of our children are grown, it is rare for my wife Tracy and I to have all five home at the same time. Make sure you hug your children a lot for they grow way too fast and they are the best part about life!
Farmers Put Me To work
Sometimes local farmers put me to work when I visit their farms in the district. I hope to visit your farm soon. Senate District 10 is the most impactful agricultural and forestry district in Virginia. In the State Senate, I'm looking forward to listening, learning, and working on legislation and ideas that help our local farmers.
"Pitbull" Award
In 2018, the Virginia House of Delegates gave me this "Pitbull Award". It's kind of funny, but it is true, we need fighters in Richmond. I'm not scared in the least, I'm full of energy, and I am looking forward to continuing the fight for our conservative values in the State Senate.
Making Friends
While campaigning, I've made many friends around the district. I look forward to meeting you and your family as well. If you see us around the district, make sure you say hello!
Football Season Is Around The Corner
Football season is right around the corner. For six years I've been attending the rumble in the jungle at Louisa county High School football games. The family atmosphere is exciting and fun. It is always a blast shooting t-shirts in the air for the attendees. Over the next four years, I'm looking forward to attending multiple new high school games across ten counties in District Ten !
A Few District Photos
Louisa County House Resolution 676
I had the honor of presenting the general superintendent of public works, John J. Jones, of Louisa County, a Joint House Resolution recognizing his 50-plus years of service to the people of Louisa. Thank you, to the Louisa town Council and Louisa town mayor Garland Nuckols, for allowing me to make this presentation to Mr. Jones and his family. Thank you, John, for your life time of service to Louisa County. Click here
Henrico County GOP is United!
I had the honor of attending the Henrico County GOP meeting. The purpose of a GOP committee is to help grow our party, support candidates by helping them get elected, and then support Republican elected officials while in office.

It is difficult for legislators to make every GOP meeting, so if we somehow get an opening in our busy schedule and can make it to a meeting, it is standard practice across Virginia for GOP chairs to recognize and allow legislators to say hello and give an update.

Rooz Dadabhoy, founder of Rally Virginia, was the featured speaker. Thank you Rooz, and all the ladies, for the hard work you do to get Republicans around Virginia elected!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak. Kudos to Henrico GOP Chair Brian Horn and your committee for working so hard to bring people together for the common cause of winning in November because that is all that matters!
Colonel Mike Waltz Retirement in D.C.
This week I had the honor of attending a National Guard retirement ceremony in Washington D.C. for fellow special ops veteran Colonel Mike Waltz who attended VMI with my brother. Congressman Mike Waltz represents North Central Florida, is a combat-decorated Green Beret, former White House and Pentagon policy advisor, a small business owner, an author, and a proud father. He is the first Green Beret to be elected to Congress. It was great to see fellow veteran Congresswoman Jen Kiggans in attendance as well.
My Teammate
Ran into an old Navy SEAL Teammate and Congressman, Derrick Van Orden, of Wisconsin while in D.C. This fellow warrior is a force to be reckoned with and he has unlimited energy. -LLTB
Cyber Fortress 2023
Fellow legislators and I attended the Joint Cyber Fortress Exercise in Virginia Beach. All levels of government, agencies, law enforcement, utilities companies, and more participated in this joint effort to develop ways to protect data and secure infrastructure. Our new National Guard General James Ring, State Coordinator of Emergency Management; Shawn Talmage, Finish Cyber Warriors, and many other Distinguished Visitors participated. I'm proud my brother, Louisa County Commonwealth Attorney and National Guard Colonel, Rusty McGuire, was there doing his part to keep fellow Virginians safe!
Central Virginia Planning District Commision
It was an honor to attend the Central Virginia Planning District Commission in Lynchburg, Virginia. Congratulations to their new chair and my friend, Appomattox Mayor Richard Connor. The CVPDC is established under section 15.2-4200 of the Code of Virginia as one of 21 planning districts which serve the local governments of the Commonwealth. The CVPDC works to provide services for member localities and identify and develop opportunities for coordination among the region's local governments. Additionally, the CVPDC encourages and facilitates collaboration among local governments in addressing challenges and opportunities of greater-than-local significance.
The Virginia Commonwealth Games
Fellow Delegate Wendell Walker and I attended the Virginia Commonwealth Games Donor reception in Lynchburg. Thank you, Virginia Amateur Sports, Inc.(VAS) President Dan Foutz, your staff, Chairman of the Board of Directors Leah Stiegler, volunteers, and others for all you do for amateur athletes, adaptive athletes, and our community. We met Miss Virginia Katie Scarlet Rose, of Loudon County as well.
Goochland Tea Party Tent
Stop by the Goochland Tea Party tent each Saturday 10am to 4pm at 30 Broad Street Road, Manakin Sabot, VA, 23103 next to the Food Lion in Centerville each Saturday from now to November 7. Stop by and learn about local politics, meet local candidates, get yard signs, Trump gear, McGuire gear, and more. Please bring a friend!
Thank you, once again, for allowing me to serve you in the Virginia House of Delegates. God willing, I will win in November and continue to serve you in the State Senate. Our goal is to get as many fellow Republicans elected as possible so we can stop the nonsense. Take care, please spread the word, and I look forward to seeing you around the District!
