Human trafficking is modern day slavery and it is an evil that must be stopped. This should be a bi-partasan issue. Yesterday, I watched a heartbreaking movie, "The Sound of Freedom", with my team at Westchester Regal Cinema. It took five years to actually get this movie into the movie theaters because there is a huge effort to hide this evil truth. Human trafficking of children/ adults brings in $500 billion a year. Please go see this movie and share this story with as many people as possible. Click here to see how you and your family can watch this movie, "The Sound of Freedom", for free.
"There are more human beings living in slavery today than any time in history - including when slavery was legal."
"The Sound of Freedom", based on the incredible true story, shines a light on even the darkest of places. After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent learns the boy’s sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death.
As a Navy SEAL, we were taught to use our strength to protect those who don't have the strength to protect themselves. As your State Senator, I will continue the fight to stop Human trafficking here in the Commonwealth and abroad.
Click here for my bill, killed by Democrats, that would have increased felony penalties for those who participate in human trafficking, and included even stiffer felony penalties for those who traffic children.
