I remember the first time I sat in my chair in the historic Capitol chamber. I looked around and thought to myself, "If you are not humbled by serving here, then you should not be here."
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm up for reelection again this year and I need your help. Will you help me now?
My team has worked very hard over the last two years, but we have much more work to do. We want to do more on the economy and job creation, on education, and on advocating for our military/veterans. Your help is vital for me to continue.
During the last two years, my team and I have helped set the conditions for business to thrive in the energy sector, passing legislation that prompts companies like UPS to spend millions of dollars in our economy, creating jobs and a cleaner environment. We help pass legislation that creates easier access to money for small businesses and protections for everyday investors.
We have helped to reform SOL tests for our children, helping them think critically as opposed to simply memorizing, and we have helped to create a flat-fee college degree, easing cost concerns for millennials and parents alike.
We helped pass legislation creating efficiencies in voting for uniformed military overseas and helped pass a secure electronic ballot to ensure the votes of our nation's finest are counted. We also pushed to exempt real-estate taxes for surviving spouses.
As I walk the halls where Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry walked, I am not indifferent to the honor each of you has bestowed upon me. I take it very seriously and strive to serve you in best way possible.
However, in order to continue to serve the 85th District, I need your help once again. Will you help me by donating before my deadline tonight?
