McGuire Earns Policy Maker of the Year Award

This week, I was honored to receive and proud to see the Farmville Herald report that my team and I earned the Policy Maker of the Year Award in their paper. We put this award on the wall in our office next to our previously awarded Legislator of the Year Award. We have a great team. It really is amazing what we can achieve when we work together!

Trump Wins Big

This past weekend, I was honored to speak with President Trump as I campaigned for him in Iowa. He won the caucus by the widest margin ever in a contested field. Last Monday, Conservatives spoke loudly and it is clear that Trump is the only person capable of Making America Great Again!

While away in Iowa on "Pressing Personal Business", I was helping President Trump win so we can Save America!

My opponent used this news to continue to spin his record. Bob Good says publicly he endorsed DeSantis because he just wants eight years. Privately, Bob keeps attacking Trump. In this video link released by Politico, he says Trump is "unelectable, not, pro-life, not Pro Gun, and not conservative."

Meanwhile, Bob Good’s Never Trump attitude is coming back to bite him. Trump campaign manager Chris LaCivita said, “Bob Good won’t be electable when we get done with him.”

2024 Session Update Week 1

The General Assembly convened on January 10th. Governor Glenn Youngkin, Lieutenant Governor Winsome Sears, and fellow legislators are working hard to make Virginia the best place to live, work, and raise a family. Everything is more expensive. Can we convince Democrats in the House and the Senate to reduce taxes and give fellow Virginians a break?

Here is some of what is on my mind and what we have been up to:

It was another busy week meeting with constituents, fellow lawmakers, and friends at the General Assembly. I’m honored to be able to meet so many extraordinary Virginians throughout my tenure. If you’re ever in the area, feel free to drop by my office and either myself or one of my staff members would love to meet with you and here about your concerns.

I was able to introduce legislation to strengthen voter ID laws in Virginia by requiring voters to produce a valid ID in order to vote. Presenting identification is a staple in life whether it be for driving, purchasing alcohol, or even collecting mail. Unfortunately, VA Dems who control the Senate would rather call such efforts racist and compromise the integrity of our elections than make sure Americans feel confident in their votes.

Also, despite the Governor’s best efforts along with all House and Senate Republicans, Democrats have stonewalled our efforts to decouple our state from California. As it stands Virginia’s emissions standards are at the whims of an unelected board of California bureaucrats. Make no mistake we will continue to fight them tooth and nail on this until we reclaim the majorities.

I’m pleased to welcome Lucas and Brandon as my office’s newest interns. Lucas is a freshman at The University of Richmond majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Brandon is a junior at Virginia Commonwealth University studying Political Science.

I'm running for Congress because the enemy isn't at the gate -- the enemy is THROUGH the gate and in our communities. Open borders, fentanyl, lawlessness, out of control spending, and more. Our country is in big trouble. I am running to represent the people of the 5th Congressional District because I am a conservative with a record of building teams to solve problems. We can do better than Good.

I've been all over the district and I can tell you the 5th Congressional District loves Trump and the America First Agenda!
