Navy SEAL John McGuire Announces $250k Raised in 48 Hours

Goochland, VA – 48 hours after launching his campaign for Congress, Navy SEAL and current Virginia Delegate John McGuire announced that he has raised a staggering $250,000 out of the gate.

"I've been a Donald Trump supporter since he came down the escalator. Trump's supporters know he needs an ally in Congress, not a never-Trump establishment politician like Bob Good," McGuire said. "The overwhelming support we have received just two days into this race is truly humbling – and a clear sign that the people of Virginia’s 5^th District are ready to unite behind President Trump, take back the White House, and deliver on an America First agenda. We can do better than Good."

Grassroots activists and donors have been motivated by a number of factors, including:

Good's opposition to Trump
Good throwing the U.S. House into chaos right before the 2023 legislative elections which cost Republicans majorities in the House and Senate
McGuire's track record of accomplishment vs. Good's lack of accomplishments in office.

Here's what McGuire said when he launched his campaign on Wednesday:

“People from across Virginia’s Fifth District have been urging me to run against the entrenched, establishment Congressman who has only served himself. Today, I am proud to announce that I am answering the call.

I have three goals to get us back on a path to winning:

Get President Donald J. Trump back in the White House
Unify the Republican Party behind Trump and focus on beating the Democrats and their Marxist, freedom-crushing policies
Deliver results for the American people

I'm working hard every day on accomplishing these three goals. However, Bob Good has betrayed these goals by betraying Trump. On the day our president was wrongly indicted, Bob abandoned Trump by endorsing another candidate. Story: Good back stabs Trump.

Our great country is under assault and is teetering on the brink. We don't have time for politicians who are more focused on personal vanity than on We the People, we don't have time for toxic infighting that cripples our party and country, and we don't have time for do-nothing politicians.

Our current Congressman voted to allow Kevin McCarthy to become Speaker, then threw a temper tantrum, reversed himself, and allowed the party to fall into chaos, costing us the 2023 elections in Virginia.

Republicans came together around our new Speaker, Mike Johnson, who is now working to clean up the mess our Congressman created by his chaos-causing temper tantrum. I applaud Speaker Mike Johnson for his willingness to step up and lead during this difficult time. I cannot excuse Bob Good for his self-serving antics that cost Republicans the majority here in Virginia.

There are consequences of our current Congressman's failed approach. When our strongest ally, Israel, was attacked by terrorists who burned babies, killed 32 American citizens and took at least 10 American citizens hostage, Our Congressman didn't help. He was too busy worrying about his losing record.

I look forward to continuing my service in the General Assembly during this campaign. In contrast to our current Congressman, I've passed many bills that improve the lives of Virginians.
