View as Webpage Happy Veterans Day! Friends, Freedom isn’t free. Today, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. We wouldn’t have a Country without our Men and Women in our Military. We celebrated Veterans Day with my fellow Veteran Brothers and Sisters at Monument Terrace in Lynchburg, Virginia. Thank you for your service. Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for loving our Country. Happy Veterans Day! John Birch, World War II Veteran, 98 years young, fought in the Battle of the Buldge and was a key speaker. Our World War II Veterans saved the world. These days we are fortunate to have any WWII Veteran in our presence. I could have listened to his stories all day. Thank you for your service Sir! Dr. Rich Diddams, Lt.Col is the current Vice Provost and Dean of the School of Business at Liberty University. He did a remarkable job reminding us that freedom doesn't come from Politicians, Protesters, Pastor's, etc. Freedom comes from the Men and Women who risk their lives and/or give their lives for us. Thank you for your inspirational words and your service Sir! David Stokes, our Master of Ceremonies, President Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 196 and Member of the Lynchburg Area Veterans Council (LAVC). Steve Bozeman, Vietnam Veteran and Member of the Lynchburg Area Veterans Council (LAVC). The Rejoice Children's Choir of Heritage Baptist Church of Lynchburg did a wonderful job playing patriotic music. Thank you for your dedication to honoring those who fought, sacrificed, and/or died that we might live as a free nation under God.
