Subject: Save our law enforcement
Senate lawmakers yesterday approved legislation to empower civilian review boards tasked with overseeing local police departments, adopting a different approach than the House and teeing up a reconciliation fight between the two chambers. The bill, introduced by Sen. Ghazala Hashmi, D-Chesterfield, would allow localities to create oversight panels made up of civilians that would have subpoena power to investigate police agencies and issue binding disciplinary action against officers or department employees.
This has the potential to end law enforcement due to civilians being the judge and jury over law enforcement officers., dispatchers and other staff Even well meaning civilians have no knowledge of what the officers and dispatchers face and the split second decisions they must make. Others may have a grudge against an officer or the department and take it out on them all. . Then there is the possibility that the civilians are Antifa or other hate police ilk.
Law enforcement officers are the most disturbed by rogue events as it reflects badly on their profession and makes their jobs more difficult. They are most eager for their agencies to take proper discipline..
Please email, call and./or go see your state delegate and senator.
