Subject: Middlesex County Republican Committee - End Gov. Northam's ban on Hydroxychloroquine

Dear MCRC Member,

Below is an important message from former Delegate Bob Marshall, whom so many of us know and respect for his research, insights, and common sense plus his no nonsense record of working for all of us in the House of Delegates.  MCRC Chairman Lynda Muller has asked me to forward it to you.

Best regards,

Trudy Feigum

Subject: End Gov. Northam's ban on Hydroxychloroquine

Gov. Ralph Northam is denying Virginians who contract Covid 19 timely access to a life-saving, safe, FDA approved drug, used by multi millions of people for 65 years!
Delegate Dave LaRock introduced H.J. Res 5002  to simply allow physicians the right to prescribe Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ).  Governor Northam's signature is not needed, nor can he veto it.

Today in Virginia, HCQ can only be prescribed in hospital ("in-patient") settings.  By the time a patient is hospitalized with Covid-19, HCQ will not be effective.
The House Rules Committee unanimously reported H. J. Res 5002 out of committee, without a recommendation for or against. The House of Delegates will vote on H. J. Res 2005 shortly.  Please urge your delegate ASAP to support H. J. Res 5002!  (See Who is my delegate for contact info.)

Hundreds of physicians outside of Virginia and thousands across the globe have had dramatic success using HCQ, prophylactically for high risk individuals, and HCQ with zinc and azithromycin/doxycycline within the first 5-7 days of the onset of symptoms, before the illness impacts the lungs or the patient's immune system produces a dangerous over-reaction.

Unless H. J. Res 5002 passes the General Assembly, Virginians will NOT be able to obtain HCQ (unless hospitalized) because Gov. Northam's Health Commissioner directed (3/25/20) that HCQ should only be made available for Lupus, Arthritis and Malaria prevention for travelers, and for Covid-19 only in hospitals.  Dr. Oliver added, "Community pharmacists should use professional judgement to determine whether a prescription is valid and that there is a bona fide practitioner-patient relationship prior to dispensing."

Gov. Northam does not want you to use FDA approved HCQ for a legal, off-label purpose.  Instead, he follows the new-found policy of NIH's Dr. Fauci by requiring extensive randomized clinical trials for new uses even for drugs approved by the FDA for other uses.

Yet, when a SARS-like virus disease from Qatar broke out in 2013, Dr. Fauci approved a mix of hepatitis antiviral drugs, ribavirin and interferon-alpha 2b which had not gone through separate testing studies.

In USA Today (4/18/13) Dr. Fauci stated, 'We don't have to start designing new drugs, a process that takes years…Even though the treatment hasn't gone through definitive trials…'if I were a physician in a hospital and someone were dying, rather than do nothing, you can see if these work.'"
Why the double standard?

Lastly, Virginia Commissioner of Health, Dr. Oliver, will not allow use of HCQ outside a hospital, but he will make you take a fast-tracked Covid-19 vaccine, sight unseen which could possibly alter your RNA or DNA, or may be derived from tissues from aborted children, and without prior animal testing.

Please contact your delegate today!
Delegate Bob Marshall
