 As you know, my 2010 "Health Care Freedom Act," gave Virginia's Attorney General standing to sue the Obama Administration in Court against the individual mandate to purchase health insurance. My law also gave Democrats reason to work hard to beat me this November. Since April 1, my democrat opponent who favors ObamaCare has raised $180 for every $100 I received. There are only 13 contested Republican-Democrat delegate races, so democrats will have extra money to use against me. My new district has 45% new voters with some democrat leaning areas. If I lose in November (11th term) or don’t win convincingly, I will be a poster boy for “moderate” Democrats against conservative Republicans everywhere because in 2009 I sent my constitutional research to conservative state legislators across the nation-a number of whom introduced similar bills in their own states. My Democrat opponent is walking door-to-door, has a phone bank and the support of party workers and democrat candidates. My new district has 45% new voters so I am not a shoe-in. I, too, have been walking and meeting voters and will do so until election day. I know you all have good uses for your hard-earned money, but I do need to run a viable campaign to pay for brochures, postage, district-wide mailings, signs, bumper stickers, etc. It costs about $465 to print and mail a thousand brochures to voters. (One district-wide mailing is almost 13,000 households.) I hope I can count on you because every Virginian has benefitted from the "Health Care Freedom Act." I want to continue to introduce legislation to set up state challenges on "Cap & Trade," "Agenda 21" and other federal attempts to force states to comply with unconstitutional mandates.
