My probable Democratic opponent Tom Perriello took hundreds of thousands of dollars from radical leftist billionaire George Soros and he served as Executive Director of Soros’ Open Society Foundations, the organization that pushes extreme policies like open borders to allow/ promote the immigrant invasion, soft-on-crime criminal justice reforms that create more victims, divisive and radical racial equity/ DEI agendas, and more.
Tom Perriello is not a good fit for Virginia's 5th District.

Some of John McGuire's bills:
- FAFO Act - Federal Accountability for Felony Obstruction Act. Will deal with the violent anti-federal law enforcement riots which have occurred across the country.
- National Patriot Day of Remembrance Act. Designates the “Freedom Flag” as the national symbol of remembrance for September 11, 2001.
- Shall Not Be Infringed Act of 2026. Enables recovery of any person harmed by the limitation on ability to carry a firearm in a different jurisdiction.
- Riley Gaines Act. Authorizes civil actions against institutions of higher education and athletic associations that permit a biologically male to compete in an athletic competition intended exclusively for females, resulting in harm.
- Home Savings Act. Amends the tax code to exclude from gross income certain retirement plan distributions used for a down payment or closing costs for a principal residence.
- American Dream Act. Allows individuals 65 years of age or older to sell real property, including rental and vacation homes, with the sales price of $500,000 or less to a first-time homebuyer without the sale being subject to capital gains
- Wintergreen Emergency Egress Act - After 25 years and worked on by 6 different 5th district congressmen with no progress, we, by the Grace of God and a lot of teamwork, got this bill passed out of the House in just 6 months. A few days ago this bill passed the senate committee and should be headed to the senate floor soon!

Someone recently spray-painted some of my campaign signs. And just this week, one of my opponent’s supporters, Barbara Hancock, was caught stomping on a John McGuire sign and has been charged in Pittsylvania County.
I want to be clear: I do not want anyone who supports me behaving this way, whether my opponent is a Republican or a Democrat.
Let’s win on merit.

On Sunday we attended the Smyrna Baptist Church Homecoming celebration marking 250 years of sharing God’s Word.
My wife Tracy and I attend our church early on Sundays, and I often visit a second or even third church afterward. Since entering politics at the state level in 2017, Smyrna Baptist Church (Founded in 1776) became the 406th church I’ve worshiped at. This practice has been a wonderful way to gain leadership, make friends, and wisdom.
It was an honor to be one of the speakers, thank you for the invitation. I will never forget it. The Word from Pastor David Nelson, the fellowship, and the food afterward made for a truly wonderful experience. Thank you! |
