Diane,

It's hard to keep track of how the redistricting crisis has evolved since the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act — setting off an unprecedented deluge of map manipulation, especially in the South.

That’s why supporting organizations like the National Democratic Redistricting Committee is so important. Keeping track of and fighting back against Republican attacks on fair representation is literally our job.

Here are the states where Republicans have redrawn maps — but this fight is far from over. If you can, make a donation to help keep up our robust, multi-pronged fight for a truly representative democracy.

State

Trump Redistricting Changes

Alabama

Republicans shamelessly moved to revert to a map that a federal court ruled intentionally discriminates against Black voters — a chance for 1 additional Republican seat.

Florida

Republicans approved a partisan gerrymander that blatantly violates the state's constitution and could lead to 4 additional Republican seats.

Louisiana

Lawmakers canceled their election to pass a new, egregious map eliminating a majority-Black district — a chance for 1 additional Republican seat.

Missouri

Republicans carved up Kansas City to deliberately take away Black voting power — a chance for 1 additional Republican seat.

North Carolina

The GOP passed a new gerrymander, dismantling a Black district — an opportunity for 1 additional Republican seat.

Ohio

Lawmakers approved a gerrymander on top of another gerrymander that improves their chance for up to 2 additional Republican seats.

Tennessee

The General Assembly passed an extreme gerrymander eight days after the Supreme Court ruling — it would eliminate the state's only majority-Black district and could lead to 1 additional Republican seat.

Texas

They kicked off the redistricting crisis last summer — passing a racial gerrymander that could lead to 5 additional Republican seats.

While Republicans are working to rig the midterms and silence the voices of Black and brown voters, the NDRC is fighting back every day.

When you donate today, your gift will help combat these attacks and support the team working to stop the Republican power grab and defend democracy across the country.

Thanks — we can't do this without you,
