It was a privilege to represent the amazing people of Virginia’s 5th District at my first State of the Union address. President Donald J. Trump’s speech was a testament to the strength of our nation and a bold roadmap for a safer, more affordable America. I am grateful for President Donald J. Trump’s leadership and his dedication to the American worker. His efforts are improving life for all Americans.

While the evening was a celebration of American potential, I was struck by the stark contrasts in the room. I was surprised to see the Democratic Party cheer at the prospect of raising taxes on hardworking families. Furthermore, it was deeply troubling to see a lack of across-the-board support when the President honored the mother of Iryna Zarutska, who tragically lost her life in a horrific subway stabbing. These are moments that should transcend politics.

It was a very inspiring and historic moment to celebrate the USA Men’s Hockey Team for winning Olympic gold, and I loved seeing everyone on the floor chant, “USA, USA, USA!”

On a similarly inspiring note, the chamber was united in pride as we recognized our veterans, including a recipient of the Purple Heart and two men receiving the Medal of Honor. God bless America!

Seven Key Policy Highlights from the 2026 Address:

Economic Recovery: Highlighting historic drops in inflation and celebrating record-high markets.
Border Enforcement: Implementing stricter laws with a renewed focus on a “zero illegal entry” standard.
Prescription Drugs: Substantially lowering costs through the Most Favored Nation policy.
Family Savings: Applauding “Trump Accounts” for children and new retirement contribution matches.
Global Security: Ending eight international conflicts and reasserting American leadership abroad.
Military Strength: Prioritizing the modernization of our armed forces and celebrating record-breaking recruitment numbers to ensure our national defense remains the strongest in the world. No more men in dresses.
Election Integrity: Working to secure elections through the Save America Act, which requires proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote and photo ID to cast a ballot.

Thank you, President Trump, for your tireless work to save our country, and thank you for this photo from the White House to mark such a significant occasion.

McGuire Response to Governor Spanberger

Following President Trump’s empowering and moving State of the Union speech on Tuesday night, Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger addressed the nation with lies, false promises, and baseless attacks on our President. Her speech was straight up full of hypocrisy.

Spanberger campaigned on affordability, yet within moments of being in office, she and radical Virginia Democrats proposed over 50 new tax increases for everyday Americans.

During her speech, she accused President Trump and Republicans of making America an unaffordable and threatening place to live with tariffs and ICE agents, yet 18 trillion dollars in investments have returned to our country, unemployment is at a record low, and murder rates are at a125-year low.

Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cut Act that codified 28 Trump executive orders, Americans are receiving larger tax refunds this year than ever. Seniors are seeing tax relief, gas prices are down, and inflation is at its lowest level in five years. Did Spanberger do this? No, that was President Trump and House Republicans.

When it comes to safety, President Trump is committed to taking dangerous illegal aliens off our streets. Federal law enforcement officers are working hard to remove people who come to our country to peddle drugs and kill our citizens. Governor Abigail Spanberger made Virginia a sanctuary state, providing an open invitation to those who wish to do harm to our Commonwealth and our citizens.

Democrats, including Governor Spanberger care more about dangerous illegal aliens than you. This was evident when President Trump asked people in attendance to stand if they agreed American citizens should be first over illegal aliens.

As President Trump said in his speech, all our welcome in our great country, if they come here legally with the intent to make America great.

When you get your tax refund, and can walk home safely at night, thank Trump. When you pay more for all the ridiculous tax increases out of the General Assembly, and crime rates spike in Virginia, you can thank Governor Spanberger.

There is more work to be done in our country and Commonwealth. I’m thankful we have a strong leader like President Trump at the helm, and I’m alarmed about what Governor Spanberger is doing to Virginia.

Rest assured, the President and Congressional Republicans will continue working to make our country the best place to live, work, and raise your family in peace.

Vote "No"to Unfair Maps

The current Virginia congressional map (shown at the top of this image) reflects a balanced delegation: 6 Democratic districts and 5 Republican districts based on current voting trends in Virginia.

If Democrats succeed in ignoring their violations to the Virginia Constitution to pass these unfair maps, your voice in choosing who represents you will disappear. Instead of voters deciding, politicians you will never meet would be choosing their voters. That’s not representative government, that’s a radical power grab to allow politicians to ignore you, "We the people".

The proposed map shown at the bottom of the image would reshape Virginia into 10 Democratic districts and just 1 Republican district, dramatically reducing competition and limiting voter choice.

Please ask your friends and neighbors to vote “NO” on unfair maps. Early voting begins on March 6. Make your voice heard and help spread the word.

Vote Ramona Christian Next VA 05 Committee Chair

Ramona Christian holds a degree in political science and has been a steadfast leader in the conservative movement. She served on Donald Trump’s platform team, was one of just three Fifth District delegates selected to represent President Trump at the Republican National Convention, and she played a key role on the Trump Virginia campaign team, helping organize Trump rallies across the Commonwealth last year. She also serves as Political Director for Congressman John McGuire and she currently serves as the Buckingham County GOP Chair.

Helping Our Veterans

We were successful in helping a fellow veteran from my district get his daughter Savali to a place where she could receive life saving treatment. "Sylvester Craft said that after McGuire got involved, the VA agreed to pay the entire bill. He said they were waiting for transportation to Stanford."

Savali Craft is a mother of two and an Air Force veteran. She is not out of the woods yet and still needs your prayers. Please spread the word.
