We Wish You A Merry Christmas! | | Hello friends,
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Tracy and I are super excited to have our children home including our recently married son John and his wife Emily. Don't forget the miracle of Jesus is the reason for the season. Tracy and I have had a lot of fun this year meeting you and making friends all over Virginia. We wish you and yours a Merry Christmas!
Fellow legislators and I have been getting ready for the 2024 session that begins Monday January 10!
Here is some of what has been on my mind and some of what we have been up to: | | Thank You Governor Youngkin! | | Tracy and I had a wonderful time at the Governor's Mansion with the Governor, First Lady, and fellow legislators. The cost of living is up everywhere and the folks are struggling. Governor Youngkin is proposing sweeping tax cuts for all Virginians in the the new year to include eliminating the Car Tax. The Governor said of the Car Tax, "It belongs in the trash can". Will the Democrats in the Senate and House cooperate fellow Republican legislators in January so we can give the people a break? | | 29 Degrees in Lynchburg Virginia! | | It was 29 Degrees (Frogman Weather) waving at cars in Lynchburg this week. I have been having fun campaigning all over the 5th Congressional District. I can't wait to meet you.
The one man strong enough to Save America is Donald J Trump. Please make a plan to vote. We have 45 days of early voting, the first day to vote is January 19, 2024. The 2024 presidential Virginia primary final day to vote is March 5. We are praying for Trump and our nation. God will determine the outcome!
| | On my way back from Richmond, I stopped by to wish my friend Tom Leonard a Merry Christmas! Tom Leonard, proprietor of Tom Leonard’s Farmer's Market, was appointed to Virginia’s Small Business Commission by Governor Glenn Youngkin. | | Colorado Supreme Court Election Interference | | Trump is a danger to the broken status quo, which is why they hate him. The Colorado ruling = ivory tower elitists trying to take power from We the People. It will fail. This is more election interference from radical Democrats. The American people are waking up. Even former Democrat Governor Wilder said on the WRVA John Reid Show this week "The decision in Colorado is stupid and will not succeed". This outrageous banana republic stuff will be overturned by SCOTUS. I’m 100% on Trump’s team unlike my opponent Never Trumper Rep. Bob Good. | | Welcome Tammy Brankley Mulchi | | Congratulations! We welcomed our newest State Senate Republican nominee and fellow Trump supporter Tammy Brankley Mulchi at the Republican State Senate Caucus Meeting in Richmond at the Jefferson Hotel. She won a tough six way mass meeting around 2am Tuesday and then rallied to join us just a few hours later in Richmond. Senator Ryan McDougle (Hanover) introduced her to the crowd.
| | Today, Tracy and I attended the funeral for my Uncle Pat. A great American, he impacted many lives and was a real example of a Servant Leader. I remember, when I was small, he would pick me up from my foster home on the weekends and buy me stuff like a cap gun, a Batmobile, or a book. Strong in his faith, Uncle Pat was married to my Aunt Linda 49 years, served in the Army reserves for 43 years, volunteered for 48 years with the Forest View Rescue Squad, and coached high school girls softball. RIP Uncle Pat. Click here for the obituary in the Henrico Citizen. | | The Supreme Court Denies Special prosecutor Jack Smith's Extraordinary Gamble. It was decided the Supreme Court won't ignore the court of appeals. Special Prosecutor Jack Smith wanted to ignore procedural process and skip the appeals court and go straight to the Supreme Court to maintain his planned trial date intended to prevent Trump from campaigning right before the Iowa Caucus. This move demonstrated to the world Jack Smith is a political hack. He cared more about getting the trial in before Super Tuesday than justice. Democrats are determined to make 2024 an election decided by special interest lawyers and courts, not by voters. Click here for the story. | | Jason Miyares Speaks to Virginia Free | | Delegate Buddy Fowler (Hanover) and I attended the Virginia Free Senate Holiday Reception. You could have heard a pin drop when Jason Miyares spoke facts and statistics. He said "let's remain committed to supporting our free market and workforce." "Together, Virginia will remain the best place to live, work, and raise a family." | | Tracy and I ran into our friend and State Farm Insurance Agent Nicole Frost of Hanover County at the Jefferson Hotel for the Senate Holiday Reception. | | Goochland Veterans Project | | It was an honor to celebrate the holidays with students at Goochland High School with fellow Veterans at the Goochland Veterans Project Holiday Party. Thank you for supporting our Veterans!
The Goochland Veterans Project is a co-curricular project connecting Goochland High School students with veterans to promote leadership, civic engagement, community involvement, and respect for veterans. We are recommending this be a model for all of Virginia.
