This week, the First Lady accompanied the Governor to a novel Mental Health Forum organized by Secretary of Education Aimee Guidera and Secretary of Health and Human Resources John Littel. The forum, hosted by William & Mary, was the first gathering of its kind of higher education, K-12, and other mental health leaders from across the Commonwealth who came together to discuss mental health challenges facing students of all ages. The First Lady offered words of encouragement to the more than 150 attendees. |

Also this week, the First Lady toured the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville, VA, where she learned about training and comprehensive services for individuals with disabilities to enter the workforce successfully. The center provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech, student health services, and much more. |

Governor Glenn Youngkin signed 738 bills into law this week, offered substantive and technical amendments to 78 bills, and vetoed three bills, taking action on a total of 819 bills sent to his desk during the 2023 General Assembly Session. |

Governor Glenn Youngkin signed key pieces of legislation that will help support Virginians with developmental disabilities. With this new bill, families of disabled Virginians will be able to more easily obtain the support and tools necessary to ensure they are able to succeed. |

Governor Glenn Youngkin signed HB 2290, which was patroned by Delegate Emily Brewer, and SB 1314, patroned by Senator Siobhan Dunnavant, making it easier for expecting mothers to receive financial support during pregnancy. |
