Friend,

The primary election is exactly 100 days away but Team Vega is already running full steam ahead to earn the Republican nomination and retire Abigail Spanberger.

Yet before we recap the last week on the campaign trail, it became clear over the last week on the world stage that American energy independence is a moral imperative. As gas prices continue to soar through the roof and the war in Ukraine rages on, American families are hurting and Ukrainians are losing their lives as consumers around the world are being forced to literally fuel Putin's war machine.

I have called on the Biden Administration to get out of the way in allowing our businesses and workers to achieve American energy independently and urge Congresswomen Abigail Spanberger to do the same. We must, at a minimum, reopen the Keystone XL Pipeline and resume oil and gas drilling on federal lands as part of an "all of the above" energy portfolio to lower energy costs for Virginians and the world over. Never again must we find ourselves between enriching someone like Putin and $4.50-$5.00 a gallon gas on American families. We took too long to finally cut off Russian oil. But now that we've done it, let's take full advantage to achieve American energy independence – immediately.

Endorsement of Senator Ted Cruz

In case you missed it, our campaign released a huge endorsement this week from Senator Ted Cruz. Senator Cruz was the first federal official to endorse Governor Youngkin last year and we're honored that he similarly sees our campaign as not only the most conservative but also the most electable in this race to defeat Abigail Spanberger and take back the House of Representatives from Nancy Pelosi!

Godfather of the Conservative Movement & First Release of County Chairs

In addition to Senator Cruz's endorsement, we were also excited to announce the endorsement of Richard Viguerie, longtime conservative activist and known as The Godfather of the Conservative Movement. Viguerie was a pioneer in direct mail marketing for Christian and conservative causes and has left an indelible mark on our movement for liberty. I'm honored to have his early and strong support as we build our coalition of conservative activists and supporters.

As more evidence to the momentum of our campaign we also released our first list of County campaign chairs in Culpeper, Fredericksburg, Orange, Prince William, and Stafford. These are well respected individuals within Republican circles and will serve as the central hub for our campaign within their jurisdictions.

This list includes longtime Republican activist and 7th District representative on Republican State Central Committee, Dewey McDonnell (Culpeper); Conservative activist and Faith Leader, Shirley Green (Fredericksburg); Wife, Youngkin Mama Bear, and Conservative School Board Member, Chelsea Quintern (Orange); Marine Corps Veteran and 2021 Republican nominee for Delegate in the 31st District, Ben Baldwin (Prince William County); and Heather Mitchell, former Senior Aide to Corey Stewart and Republican nominee in the former 2nd District (Stafford).

These individuals will be critical to our campaign's success and we cannot thank them enough for volunteering their time and energy to take back the 7th District for the GOP. They will join and work alongside our Campaign Chairman, former Virginia Attorney General and Acting Dep. Secretary of Homeland Security for President Trump, Ken Cuccinelli.

It was also another busy week on the campaign trail bringing our unapologetic conservative message to the voters of the 7th District, attending and speaking at the Rappahannock Conservative Women's Coalition in Spotsylvania in addition to the Culpeper County GOP. Thank you to both groups for the invitation. I also had the pleasure of meeting with Laura Morris of the Spotsylvania Republican Women's Club and speaking with Scott Samson, Chair of the Greene County School Board on the all-important issue of our children's education.

Fredericksburg Gun Show

Yesterday, I had the privilege of joining the wonderful patriots who braved the inclement weather to attend the Fredericksburg Gun Show. Once more, the crisis in Ukraine is exposing the necessity for individual liberty. The taking up of arms by the Ukrainians against a tyrannical government is exactly why that right is enshrined second in our nation's sacred governing document. As your representative to Washington, I will never waiver on defending your God-given, constitutional rights.

Afterward, I joined the Fredericksburg Tea Party Patriots for their March meeting, fielding questions from members and explaining why the government that governs least, governs best. As you'll recall, prior to blue wave of 2018, the 7th District was represented by Tea Party hero, Congressman Dave Brat. Residents from Prince William to Culpeper deserve to be represented by someone of similar beliefs and I look forward to filling that void.

In addition, Team Vega also attended the Fredericksburg and Greene County GOP meetings.

The race to defeat Abigail Spanberger and take back the 7th is on! Until next week…see you on the campaign trail!

For Liberty,
