Accountability

One aspect of accountability is thanking politicians when they do the right thing. Can you help me thank the folks in our General Assembly who stood up for fair maps?

Hey Pete,

It's been quite the fight in North Carolina -- and I am proud of every activist who submitted a comment, attended the hearings, or watched the map-drawing livestream. We fought hard to make our voices heard during a process that was stacked against us from the start.

Our work the past few weeks laid the groundwork for the fight for fair maps in 2021 -- politicians now know that there will be a strong grassroots response when they try to manipulate the maps.

We want to thank the legislators who voted against maps that were a product of a deeply dysfunctional, insufficient process so they know that we appreciate their commitment to fair redistricting. They could have voted for these maps, ones that favored incumbents -- and in some cases, even made their own districts safer -- but instead, they took a stand against a flawed process that favored politicians over voters.

As always, thank you for your activism and support!
