Dear Robert,
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! My husband, children and I had a wonderful, low-key Thanksgiving. My husband, John and six year old son, Luke, played golf in the morning. The girls and I cooked from scratch our pie, rolls, stuffing, sweet potato souffle, and more! And when I say fresh, I mean taking the grain, making our own flour, and going from there. I think the guys had it the hardest though, since they had to clean all the dishes. Unfortunately, I am writing to you this morning on a much more serious matter. I'm sure you have seen the recent developments in the news about our Republican Lt. Governor, Bill Bolling, abandoning the Republican Party, attacking Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, and insinuating he may run as an Independent against Ken Cuccinelli for Governor. This is very disturbing and unbecoming behavior from a man who has represented our party for a long time. As you may know, earlier this year grassroot conservatives decided to run for elected positions on the State Central Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia, so that we could have a voice in how business is conducted within the Republican Party. For too long the Republican Party has been dominated by big money, consultants, ideologues and politicians who have forced a top-down approach to politics. It was time to return to the Republican Party of Virginia that represented the voice of the Republican grassroot activists. One reason it was important for grassroot conservatives to assume control of State Central Committee was to control the nomination method for our Republican candidates. Holding a Republican Convention is a preferred method to a Republican Primary in selecting our candidates, because then the grassroots choose the candidates rather than the big-money consultants with their multi-million dollar campaigns and slick TV advertising. I wanted to forward you the press statement and letter I released this morning. I thought you would want to see it. If you desire, you can express your own thoughts to Bill Bolling directly by contacting him at 804.225.0750 or emailing at campaign@billbolling.com I can promise you one thing about me: I will never stop fighting to ensure you have a voice and your rights are protected! As always, let me know if you have any questions. -Jamie Forward Message: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
