View in browser  |  Get our newsletters Good Morning, Pennsylvania FRIDAY, JUNE 23, 2023 • TODAY'S WEATHER A sad ending It didn't come as too much of a shock that the five men on a small submersible in the Atlantic Ocean were deemed dead after a search for their vessel found debris    The Coast Guard believes the craft, called the Titan, imploded near the wreckage of the Titantic, where the explorers were headed. They lost contact on Sunday.    Certainly, anyone taking such a trip – even a mightily expensive one – knew there were risks. We'll hear more about the company, the equipment and the people involved as the investigation into the incident progresses.    We hope their suffering was short and their loved ones' memories long.    Now, let's take a look at this morning's headlines. In the year ending March 31, sales in the region topped $4.3 billion. One chain sold more than the others.   I-95 on track: Pa. Gov. Josh Shapiro tweeted that in order to finish the work to open temporary lanes to replace the burned and demolished I-95 in Philadelphia, "we need 12 hours of dry weather." With rain in the forecast, though, the state is going to use a jet dryer from Pocono Raceway. If all goes well, the road reopens today.   Titanic sub: The five men aboard a small submersible missing since Sunday, when it left for the Titanic wreckage, are dead after the vessel was found imploded, the Coast Guard says. A debris field was located in the deep water hours after the oxygen supply was believed to be used up.
