Exactly Who Does The Land In Israel Really Belong To?
An Israeli with a sense of humor at the United Nations might have recently set the record straight.
An ingenious example of speech, humor and politics occurred yesterday in the United Nations
General Assembly, which has made most of the world, except President Obama, smile.
As the representative from Israel stood up to speak:
"Before beginning my speech I want to tell everyone here something about one of the most
famous of all Israelites - Moses. When he struck the rock and it brought forth water, he thought,
what an excellent opportunity to have a bath! So Moses removed all of his clothes, put them
aside on the rock and entered the water. But when he got out and started to dress, his clothes
had vanished. A Palestinian had stolen them!"
At this point, the Palestinian representative at the UN jumped up and furiously screamed, "What
are you talking about, that's a lie! The Palestinians weren't even there then!" The Israeli
representative looked at him, smiled and said:
"Thank you Sir! Now that the representative from Palestine has made that fact perfectly clear,
I will begin my speech..."
