A Driving Force

This past week Delegate Taylor received the "Driving Force Award" from Virginia Clean Cities for his groundbreaking work on natural gas as a transportation fuel.  No doubt it was a direct result of his passing three bipartisan bills signed into law last year.

The title seems appropriate. Taylor has been a driving force on the three issues on which he campaigned: the economy/jobs, education, and military/veterans. Please Support Here To Keep This Force Going

On the economy and jobs, in addition to natural gas legislation, he introduced an historic crowdunding bill, which passed and was recently signed into law by the governor.   The new law will give small business access to capital and certainly create jobs.

On education, Delegate Taylor co-sponored legislation to reform SOL testing to ensure our children are not simply being taught to a test, but rather gaining critical skills necessary to thrive. Taylor co-sponsored flat-fee degree legislation, because he understands the cost of tuition is a profound concern of parents and the millennial generation.

On advocating for the military and veterans he passed legislation to create efficiencies in uniformed military and overseas absentee voting. He spoke out and fought for a secure electronic ballot to be sent to deployed military members to make sure their voices and votes are counted.

Delegate Taylor's tenacity and effectiveness earned him an appointed to the prestigious Finance Committee, where he is able to kill millions of dollars in tax increases.

Taylor has has been the force behind all of these issues and many others. Please help us continue to promote and pass legislation and policies that benefit all Virginians. We have a deadline March 31st, and we really need your help to keep pushing forward.  Won't you support Delegate Taylor now?  Please Support Scott by Donating Here

Anti-Tax Rally & The Derby-NorthernVirginiaGOP.com AGENDA Newsletter-April 2015

Your April issue of the NorthernVirginiaGOP.com AGENDA Newsletter follows this letter from the Northern Virginia Republican PAC...
_________________________________________

Dear NorthernVirginiaGOP.com Agenda Newsletter Subscriber,

It's spring, the weather is nice, and the Kentucky Derby is coming.

How will you celebrate?

One way to enjoy the weather this spring is to attend our NOVA GOP PAC Anti-Tax Rally in front of the Fairfax County Government Center from 4-5 PM at the start of the County's budget hearings. (please see the newsletter below for details!)

Another way is to help our efforts to elect Republicans this year bloom with a donation to the Northern Virginia Republican PAC!

If you like what we do, I hope you'll decide to join the Host Committee for our upcoming Kentucky Derby Day Fundraiser, attend the event, or even if you can't attend, please buy tickets that either you or we can give to deserving volunteers by making a donation at http://tinyurl.com/9ou2

Here are some details...

The NOVA GOP PAC's 15th Annual Kentucky Derby Day Fundraiser will be held
this year on Saturday, May 2nd from 5:30-7 PM at The Front Page - Arlington, 4201 Wilson
Boulevard, Arlington.

Over the years, this event has helped us fund campaign activities including the
grassroots activation of volunteers and voters through our newsletter, website and weekly TV
show, as well as our distribution of "No Tax Hike" and "Republicans United for Tax Relief"
stickers, literature and more.

Sponsorships are $1,000, $500, $250 and $100. Individual event tickets are only $20!

Please click here to donate: http://tinyurl.com/9ou2

No matter which horse wins the race, your financial support will help us push for
victory this November, and because of our very low overhead we hope to provide the biggest
bang for the buck!

You can be on the Host Committee as a "Sponsor" of the event for as little as $100
which includes 2 tickets to the event!  Please also consider joining the Host Committee at the
higher levels, such as Patron ($250-5 tickets), Benefactor ($500-10 tickets) or Co-Host
($1,000-20 tickets).

And if you'd like us to donate any tickets from your hosting level to deserving volunteers, please let us know! Or if you'd like to buy individual tickets, they are only $20 each.

Will you please make a donation at http://tinyurl.com/9ou2 today?

Even if you can't make it personally, I really do hope you will show your support for
our efforts with a donation and by joining our Host Committee for the May 2nd Kentucky
Derby Day Fundraiser.

Any amount at all would help, and it would let us know we are on the
right track!

I hope you will join our Host Committee today.  Thank you so much for your
consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Yours for Republican Victory,
James Parmelee - Chairman - NorthernVirginiaGOP.com
President - Republicans United for Tax Relief

Here in the Historic Triangle, spring is in the air. Unfortunately, the warmer weather brings an annual scourge: potholes.

Potholes occur when the pavement is weakened by moisture seeping into the pavement, freezing, expanding and then thawing. Traffic driving over the roads loosens the pavement further, and it eventually crumbles, causing a pothole.

Because we had a very wet winter characterized by heavy snow and rain as well as several freeze-thaw cycles, you may notice a lot of potholes in the roads.

If you see a pothole you may report the problem to VDOT online here or by calling 1-800-FOR-ROAD (1-800-367-7623). VDOT will investigate each report and schedule repairs as soon as possible.

Let's keep the VDOT repair trucks busy until all the potholes are filled!

Campaign Announcement!
Earlier this month I announced my candidacy for re-election to the Virginia House of Delegates. For the past eight years, I have enjoyed the privilege of serving residents of James City and York Counties. I consider this a high honor, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue representing the Historic Triangle in the General Assembly. For my full press release, click HERE.
Around the District
Throughout the year, there are many opportunities to remain politically engaged in our region. Last weekend I joined nearly 250 peninsula residents in attending the annual Lincoln Reagan Gala. Below is a photo of me posing with three of my favorite men.

During the March 25 James City County Republican Committee meeting, Senator Tommy Norment and I will provide a General Assembly legislative update. Additionally, as a supporter of Lara Overy's campaign for the House of Delegates, I am a proud sponsor of her campaign kickoff this Sunday. Details for both events are below.
